Can anybody help me please. After a long time... years i say... [:o)], I decide to install TradeWars in "WebBBS" but... Well TWGS is installed but i like to offer to the users a Java client because the WinServer don't accept programs, software etc, etc. the WinServer is the Raven IIS V2.0 that is an evolution of the old, old, old... OSIRIS BBS from ITC. I already talk with some of them and Telnet isn't the wanted solution. Again, can you help me? My best Regards |

erm, i *think* the answer to what you are asking is: Zoc/Swath/Attac (Zoc is free!!) also, TWX is a great addition. (a proxy server that does a lot for you) |

There's a free version of zoc with a mild nag screen. Otherwise it's relatively free. |

No it sounds more like he is trying to run tradewars through a BBS front door and wants his users to access the game via java. To be honest your probably not going to find a way to do it I know there was one java based client that I saw about 2 years ago but I can’t find it anymore if you got time you could dig though these forums I know I saw it in a post but we get so off topic sometimes it could be buried anywhere. Why is telnet not an option? |

Here are some links that might help you out: J-TWAT link: http://sourceforge.net/projects/j-twat Java Telnet Program: http://www.mud.de/se/jta/index.html To setup play directly from web browers, check this link out: http://www.mudconnect.com/java/Telnet/index.cgi I also happened upon this "Kokua", it looks pretty kewl and never heard of of it before; it seems that this is Linux compatiable for those that have been inquiring about helpers for use with programs other then Windows. From what I read it allows the use of TWX as well. http://www.twdata.org/kokua/ |

I may have well missed the point of this thread but if the issue is TWGS running with a BBS door then another possibility is opening another direct access to TWGS using port 2002 enabling a way of bypassing the BBS door as several BBS's have already done. If I am wrong then please correct me? As for Linux support there are many waiting for the software that can cut Micro$**t out of the equation! |
