Listen, i'm a programmer, but I stick with what I know, VB, I've learned a bit of ZOC, enough to do a few tricks, but I really havent dived into TWX Proxy yet. As I am sure I need to, I am just as sure that one day I will, untill then, let me propose a few suggestions for scripts... First, I was thinking of a script, using in conjunction with SupG's "PairFinder". We all know that SupG's PairFinder will scan the universe for specified pairs, then list our figs, and create a file with the ports we are looking for, but only with our figs down. I know this may have already been done, but how about a script that takes that information from the file, automatically, and warps you to the ppt spots or the ssm spots, and automatically performs the operation on all specified ports doing the specified operation untill cetian cretieria is met, turns, cash, figs, etc. Terra Tracker, I know for a fact this one has been done, not sure if it has been mastered, but a simple script in theory. When someone is coloing, almost 100% of the time they take just enough ore to get there and back, the rest would all be holds for the colos, in theory couldnt you get an idea of how many hoops their planet is out by how many colos the grab?? Assuming they havent got a bit smarter and put something else in their holds... World Collect, pretty sure a few months ago when Devils was still around, he and I used this script, think it was from OZ, not 100% sure. A script that would operate similar to SupG's World Planet Trade, except instead of selling materials, it would buy the materials. I know I know, reds do this in conjunction with blues all the time, just trying to speed up the process... Like I said, just IDEAS that I have. I know they may all be stupid, just wondering what you advanced scripters think...and what the people of Trade Wars would like to see.. |

Those scripts have been done in one form or the other . Cherokee has put a couple that cant be beat .. based on SupG's & Revs haggle math. And with another script doing setups and calling (via twx) this all can be done , when you have a level 4 planet or better. On a side note .. I love twx , its as close to english as I've seen for a script language based for twars. It in itself has revolutionized the game , and then ..it has made it harder for a new player to get a start. <hehehehe , forgot what the topic was > ok .. Planet Trade scripts .. been done .. buy or sell .. and Tera tracker .. also been done .. its ok , but there are better ways to find players .. And .. IT is graditifing to write a script to do what you want and because its yours ..you'll find more uses for them [:)] |

As for the idea on counting colos taken at Terra each loop that has been around for a long time. There are a few scripts that allow 'padding holds' to make the count different but holding things makes the search for sectors even smaller. Better suggestion might be write a complex macro that varies the count according to how much you feel like making the counters scratch their heads trying to figure out the variance each loop? |

Padding your holds makes the search area larger actually. It makes the searcher think you are further from terra than you actually are. Making a macro/script to generate different numbers of padded holds is pointless... If you put in a random number of fuel to take extra, all the script would have to do is calculate based on the trips you took with the least amount of fuel. Your best bet is just to take 1 number and stick with it. Better if they think you're 12 hops away all the time, than 9 sometimes, 10 sometimes, 11 sometimes... If I saw that, I'd say "Well, they can't be further than 9 hops away." SupG |
