I have been reading Xide's statements about his retirment, and while I hate to see him go, I'm under the impression that he is about to release one of the best things ever, the soure code for TWX Proxy? I dont know if I read that right, and while I hate to see him go, Xide has left his mark, and the shock waves of TWX Proxy will continue to be felt for many years, as all future helpers will have to live up to the standards of one of the greats; Is Xide releasing the source code for TWX Proxy? Or just the source code for the scripts? |

I do not know what the future fate of Xide's site will be. But, currently it is up so that you can get the final release of TWXProxy and it's source. At this time, I am unable to make any posts to his support forum. I do not know if it is because Xide has turned that off, or because of other reasons. But, I have found a major bug with the final release. It refuses to connect to any server, local or remote. In fact all version of TWXProxy that authenticates itself refuses to connect to any server. I have versions 1.06b, 1.07b, 1.08b, 1.09b, 2.00, 2.02, 2.03b, 2.03. With the exception of 1.06b, they all refuse to attempt to connect to any telnet server. And Yes, I have already verified that a connection can be made to the servers in question with ZOC and SWATH. Is anyone else experiencing this? Also, for those people getting the source. The current distro of the source does not compile stright out of the box. |

The current distro of the source does not compile stright out of the box. I was successfully able to get it to compile by changing a couple of lines something about Pointer vs PChar not being compatible. This could be because I was using Delphi 2005 and it looks like it the program was written for an earlier version. I also had no problems with connecting to a couple of servers it looks like the authentication routines are not called so I don't believe that is any problems. As for the future I would think that a place like sourceforge would be a great idea to "park" TWXProxy to allow others to continue Xide's great work. |

I can connect fine with the final release, the only problem I had was the old databases weren't compatible with the new version it seems. And I was using some Free pascal compiler and I got a compile error when trying to compile the final version. I don't know Pascal so I am basically out of luck if I feel like trying to mess with this code at all. |

I talked to xide, and he said it was ok for me to mirror his files on my website, so as soon as he stops maintaing his site, the files will go up on mine. I'll probably put them in the scripts section, but I might get ambitious and make a new section |

I have been having problems with my 2.02 TWX Proxy recognizing the Reg codes and not letting it connect the pack 2 stuff. I haven't tried the 2.03 yet. or the open source release. Vulcan |

Does anyone have any opinions on how the release of the source code to TWX is going to change Tradewars? I have had no problems connecting to any games using 2.02 and I haven’t made the move over to 2.03 yet. |

I emailed Xide friday about the future of his site and he said it was in need of maintenance -- which it isn't likely to receive -- and will probably go down within a year. He'd like to offload much of the material before than so that it can continue to be distributed. I'm hoping to have my new script site up (minus the forum area) in a few days. However when the forum section is complete I plan on having area specific to the continuing support of TwxProxy. At least with respect to helping new players learn to script and work around problems that we've all had. |

Hmm don't know if script pack 2 works on any of them or not. They all connect just fine but not playing any games to try the script pack 2's Been having way more fun playing online poker, Tradewars is just way too boring anymore and not fun like it used to be |
