I have added an online watch script to my downloads - the script is in .ts format so you can play with it as you wish. The header description is as follows:

# onlineWatch.ts --- Monitor who logs into and out of a game
# This script will log to a file the player's name and time that
# the game login/logout happens. Subspace messages will be broadcast
# on the login/logout, rank/alignment changes, and when a player changes
# ships. An optional "welcome message" is also sent to the player logging in.
# Also optional is the activation of a sound file upon player login.
# The structure of this script can be improved upon, but it is
# functional in its current state.
