Well, I downloaded swath today and fired it up and am curious. Is there no wppt or world explore script built into it. I know I prob shouldn't post before I thoroughly look for it. I wanted to see what I was "missing" out on w/Swath. Also the probe script seems to avoid sectors where there are fig hits.
Anyways, I am gonna check into it.
Thx,

do you have TWX? it has all these scripts you mentioned out there freely available for it if not coming directly with it.

From v1.7.x there is a World Trade and an Ether Probe Explore script built in. And as Slim says, there exists good TWX scripts for this task as well and they can easily be executed from within SWATH.

SWATH is a good front end for most of your game play you should be using TWX even if you are using ATTAC I would still suggest using TWX for most of your game play. Like Slim said there are scripts available to do WPPT, WSSM, and exploring for TWX.

Who says you can't teach old dogs new tricks, and new dogs old tricks! I hope you have fun with SWATH [:D] LD I use it with ATTAC both linked into TWX, and have all I need for what I need that way. But will never get rid of TWX at all, and will keep what I have now. And from time to time I plug in ZOC into the mix.

lol... I find ZOC is very fast for something (since no database writing) especially for wssm or something. With the new twxsync which I know you've played with you can just bump attac online and sync and get all the info you need and keep zoc for speed. Especially since I'm on dial-up.

I pretty much figure what helper you use is really a matter of which interface you prefer. I tried ATTAC and Swath and decided the swath interface worked better for me. The fact that Swath has a Java scripting API was also a bonus for me, since it allows me to write scripts without having to learn a seperate scripting language made just for the helper (I was already familiar with Java).
Usually if people ask me, though, I just tell them to download the trial versions of helpers and see which one they're most comfortable with.
The guy who's writing Gath used to test it out on a TWGS I played on until the server broke (twice!), and he seems to be making progress on it. It'll be interesting to see how that develops. I didn't like the interface that much, and I'd already paid for Swath anyway, but I guess the more the merrier as far as helpers go.

I don't know, the server he was testing on is down indefinately, due to a server rebuild in "porgress", and that was the only time I'd see him.
