A completely NEW tradewars "helper", TWXSync does real-time data synchronization between helpers. Currently ATTAC is the only TWXSync capable helper. The protocol is publicly posted. Please email me to use TWXSync in any other helper. check it out at: http://www.tw-attac.com/twxsync.html I will post more tomorrow as it is really late earth. |

SWATH is the second helper to support the TWX Sync protocol. I will release a TWX Sync enabled SWATH version later this week. http://www.swath.net /Stein |

TWXSync is a brand new piece of software for the tradewars community. Basically, If you are using a "TWXSync compatible" helper, then everything is shared in real-time. I have listed 4 examples of the way TWXSync is used. Example #1: you and your teammates are online together. When you port, the amounts and percents and sector information are immediately sent over to his helper via TWXSync so he sees your data in realtime. Example #2: person A busts at port 12. When Person B busts at port 12, that data is sent to the TWXServer and passed to Person A. It is automatically cleared from bust list of Person A. With TWXSync, you could SSM on the same set of ports with a teammate in realtime without passing bust information back and forth via CIM or email or ICQ. Since the data is updated in the helper database, it is reflected immediately without having to restart any scripts. Example #3: Person A is online. Person B is offline. Person A is playing and then logs off. When person B logs on, he/she will immediately get all the data Person A "saw" while playing. Example #4: Person A plays from home and from work. It is extremely inefficient to constantly email or move the helper datafile back and forth. TWXSync will maintain the data at both places simultaneously. TWXSync server data can be exported in TWX export format v2 for import to any compatible helper. Read the website. I hope this brief synopsis is helpful. earth. |

Trust me slim, you will like it very much, I know, and I hope it is okay to say this earth, the reason I know is that I and a select few were beta testing it as well as the new ATTAC and the TWXSync Server works really great, it can really benefit a corp or a game server as well. And the best part is that all the info between corps are secure, because for each Sync account there is password validation. I think the Sync Server is the next phase of the game and helpers, and is really worth it. Vulcan |

ok, so its kinda like a mini-DrOp. but, when you say things like "you could SSM on the same set of ports with a teammate in realtime without passing bust information back and forth via CIM or email or ICQ" it makes me think.... hmmm, who ssm's w/ a teamate. i can think of no advantageous way that sdt or sst is not better than ssm. unless its an unlim, in which case even with -65 ports, i think a regular wssm would be better than this method. i think i'll wait for DrOp to come out, or till this thing works with zoc, hehe. I know Zilla, the Sync server was designed by earth but intended as the way it came out, public. And like the way it works, and with Stein onboard then it is a good thing. It will promote better play all around. My main testing was the Sync server, the new ATTAC was a benefit to test too. I have SWATH too. As well as TWX Proxy. I use attac for my own reasons. Swath does have a nice GUI. If TWX Proxy had one o would it be nice. But between ATTAC and SWATH Proxy works fine. I like some of the things ATTAC does, just like I like some of the thingsSWATH does, and I really like what TWX Proxy does, each has their strong points and their weaknesses, and its really a matter of choice of the user, but the newer version of ATTAC is better than the previous version, and faster too.But thats my opinion. And I know others will still dislike ATTAC for their own reasons. But version 4.1.8 is way better than the 4.1.7, the only way to know is to try it. Vulcan |

TWXSync is designed to make corps more cohesive. To allow you to play from work and home seamlessly. It is designed for everyone to use; hence, the open protocol. It is not to make one helper "better" than the other. All helpers have strengths and weakness, it is a matter of user preference. I know about the swath beta with twxsync Stein and I have done multiple constructive items together. TWX file format 1 and 2, common fed comm encryption are a few. earth. |

Yes, I made the first draft of the TWXSync protocol and together with Earth we developed it further. It is based on the TWX v2 XML format to make it nice and flexible. But to minimize transfer sizes, we compress the XML data before sending it over the net. The TWXSync server was developed by Earth and together we designed a client interface that we both now use. SWATH is currently under beta testing and it looks good so far. I hope to be able to release a TWXSync enabled SWATH version very soon. |

One member of your corp needs to run a TWXSync server. It is sold separately by Earth at the ATTAC site. All other members of the corp or alliance just needs to use a TWXSync enabled client. SWATH will support TWXSync in the upcoming v1.8. |

If I were to purchase a copy would all my corpies have to purchase a copy for us to able to use it together? Are there any plans to add support for zoc or twx in the near future? What firewalls has it been tested with and what are the typical settings you would have to change to allow connections inward to the sync server? Are there planes to add the logging of planets? Do you have to be attached to the game in order to sync up with the rest of your corpies? Sorry but I was having problems with the forums on the ATTAC site so I could not post there. DF the cost is $30.00 |

im confused, let me see Attack and swath allow you to TWXsync but you have to also have to have TWXsync (or 1 member) to have in order for the Realtime data passing to work? if i have to buy somthing and it works without me having to to spend next 2 days setting up and Stein suports it. where do i PAY! FYI, was not baggin on you Vulcan, never used attack, neverknew who Earth was, off my radar, its Fords & Cheavy's, i put my TW game money into swath, just the way i went. not switching trucks in mid race. unless Earth has a switch from swath to attack 1/2 price thing. (vid you owe me a $1! hehehe) |
