Check these sites http://www.swath.net/?page=scripts/guidetouserscripting http://www.swath.net/?page=scripts This is from a FAQ page at SWATH: Q: How do I load a ZOC/REXX script ? A: You need to edit your swath.ini file located in your windows directory. Below is an example of a sample swath.ini file [Java] JDK=C:\jdk1.3.1\ ClassPath=Scripts;c:\SWATH [UserDefinedScripts] Scr1=ExampleScript1 Scr2=ExampleScript2 Scr3=ExampleScript3 Scr4=ExampleScript4 Scr5=ExampleScript5 Scr6=ExampleScript6 [RexxScripts] Scr1=C:\swath\zoc\_buyfurb.zrx Scr2=C:\swath\zoc\_backdoor.zrx As you can see in the example Rexx scripts has it's own heading and you you provide the full path and file name to the zoc/rexx script you want to load in SWATH. After editing the file you will have to restart SWATH. This should be improved upon in future versions of SWATH. Revs Scripts: http://thereverend.coastgames.com/trade ... es/script/ Hope This Helps |

Swath is great, but preparing it to run scripts is considerably more difficult than other helpers. Are you listening Stein? Most of us that use Swath do so for the info handling and mapping features, perhaps some of the built-in scripts. Scripts tend to be significantly faster using TWX though, vs. the equivalent Swath based script. The record macro feature is sweet though. And keep in mind, you can use the various macro keys in Swath to launch TWX scripts. |

I still have not found a script that is on swath that I havent seen for twx or that I or someone I know can write.Setting up swath is such a pain, most say why bother?.But I do have to say the hot keys rule and I like the bubble finder and sector info.I hope they can fix this in the future. But for now,I would say stick with twx scripts. |

Yes, using scripts will be much improved in the next version. You won't need to edit the SWATH.ini file again I know the built in scripts can be slow due to the amount of checks that are being made. I have plans on how to improve the speed in the future. But, the best way to run scripts in SWATH is to use Rexx/ZOC script or connect via TWX Proxy. I recommend downloading the RevHelper scripts since they are very fast and nice. |

To be perfectly honest, I was asking for a friend who wanted to use them. It was simpler to ask for myself. But I hate to appear an idiot. Thanks for the info. We've got it fixed. |

I don't think it's quite fair to compare the speed of twx scripts to swath api scripts. The methods in the swath api are very formal in waiting for appropriate prompts between steps and so forth. Most twx scripts are largely type ahead strings that then "wait for" some result and continue. It's not necessarily that swath is slow, just that it's doing a lot more than a typical twx script. If one used only low level send string and wait for commands in the swath api, how much slower would the swath script be relative to twx? Unless swath is less efficient in its own parsing and data access than twx, the compiled java scripts should actually be faster than twx. Has anybody actually looked at this? |

I find editing the .ini a minor inconvenience for scripting. SWATH is a great product all around and it has inspired me to learn JAVA [:)] Thanks! |

quote:Originally posted by piyath i have to agree with them if you want to run scripts dont use the swath script twx runs 3 to 4X faster then swath you can get twx at http://www.twxproxy.com and it has more scripts then swath be far to use i only use swath for mapping and macros and have macros to start all my twx scripts Rubbish.. It all depends on THE script itself. The thing that most Swaht(java) scripts do is use calls for everything.. a Special command to do everything, This is slower because the game doesnt just send a moronic reply. It checks prompts and makes sure it CAN send the information. TWX on the other hand.. The fast scripts at least.. Just send macro's and wait for responces, Yes it's faster but swath could do the same things if someone would write the scripts to do so. Traffic calcs are TONS faster too in REXX I can get through about 1.5 Million simulated path's in the time TWX can get through about 300/400K |
