I'm currently in game with a relative newbie and want some competition. It's a high turn game, he's red, and it's day 5, and there aren't a million figs yet. He uses ATTAC, so can anyone tell me where I can find my friend some good red scripts? |

ATTAC red scripts work quite well for me. One problem is that the WorldSSM does not scan half the time and he could run into sector figs, planets, mines, etc. So stick to the SSM/SST/SDT scripts. Have him SSM until he can afford another ship, and then SST with it. Then have him use planets to SDT with. The ATTAC SST script is also SDT if you choose the option on the form to dump to a planet. ATTAC can use Zoc/REXX scripts, but they need to be modified. It is beyond a newbie's abilities to modify them. They can run some unmodified, or so I hear. How to run them is listed here: http://www.tw-attac.com/runrexxscript.html Some Zoc/REXX scripts that work with ATTAC are listed here: http://www.tw-attac.com/scripting.html Good luck! Can't teach him TWX yet, eh? |

Stein doesnt get good user feedback for lots of stuff too. I bet Xide is in the same boat. Quick note, Datasharing is best done in TWAttac. It's import/export has no errors. Swath does, TWXProxy has had a few, and still doesnt stamp time correctly. REXX Scripting in attac should be faster than Zoc or maybee even Swat (probably same/same timing between rexx in swath&attac). To each their own I say |

ATTAC is actually pretty fast. It is based of the PUTTY telnet engine and uses the REGINA REXX parser. v4.1.8 will update the telnet code and the parser code so improve speed and reliablilty. Changes to the scripts will scan all sectors in the future. It should be done in a couple months now that finals are over. Feedback is very important and i have 3-4 people who are constantly helping me out which i really appreciate. More feedback are always appreciated whether positive or negative as i try and make ATTAC the most reliable and fastest helper based on feedback. happy holidays to all. earth. |

I suggest that you try a terminal program. Telix or Qmodem in order. If familiar with C language, telix SALT is almost identical. |

QModem is no longer available. You may find an archive file, but I doubt you could ever get a reg code for it anymore (I chased Mustang software through 3 aquisitions only to find the last purchaser of the company bankrupt). Telix may still be around in some form, but if it is it's on life support. The best of the early TW helpers were written for Telix, but nowadays that spot seems to have been taken by Zoc. If you are just starting out you won't find anything current for Telix. Get Zoc and learn Rexx. |
