Having a problem with TWX & Windows XP and was hoping you could shed some light on the subject. I have it set to reconnect automatically, and just spent a bunch of time with the tech from my ISP checking to make sure my settings for my dialup connection are right to automatically reconnect when the line is dropped. Everything is set up right on the dialup connection to automatically reconnect. But, when I get disconnected and TWX tries to automatically reconnect, the dialup connection never works. TWX just sits there at the prompt trying and trying to reconnect, and the dialup connection never pops up. IT's like XP doesn't even recognize it is there asking to reconnect. Any ideas what is wrong? |

While I definately agree with Strider's sentiments, I must admit that in this case it was the homer simpson at the keyboard at fault not XP. I was testing the reconnection by manually disconnecting to see if it would reconnect. With Windows 95 and 98, if you did this, it would just automatically reconnect on it's own. Seems XP must know the difference between the net disconnecting you and you doing it yourself. When I just waited until the net disconnected me, it reconnected just fine so far. Doh! |
