I'm wondering if anyone could recommend a better text editor for writing TWX scripts than the windows notepad (assuming pretty much anything would be an improvement :)

The main feature I would like to see is line numbers to ease debugging. Line counting in notepad is getting very tedious now that I've had a script reach 300 lines.

...and as always, anything that's free would be preferential. [:)]

thanks

I just looked (and it is free) Arachnophilia is a multi use editor and directly supports text files (and HTML, JAVA, etc..)[:)]

EditpadLite from JGSoft and UltraEdit32 are both too good editors with excellent features, including column and line numbering.

Has anyone found a good ANSI Editor that allows you to limit line depth?

Or am I the only person that adds new graphics to the game?

I use jEdit for everything. You could probably even write up a syntax file and get color syntax highlighting for your TWX scripts.

I have found VDraw to be more reliable about creating TW game graphics than TheDraw. For some reason sometimes TheDraw screws up the colors and such.
