I'm not going to spam everywhere with a message. If you use it, you've got it. Finally. ------------------------- badboy@goosemoose.com ICQ# 105123166 Download your free helper today! "Isn't it time you put a little J-TWAT in your game?" http://j-twat.sf.net |

I do have to follow up with the one note that you can't use your old J-TWAT save files with this version. You can import them via the import function, and then play as normal. ------------------------- badboy@goosemoose.com ICQ# 105123166 Download your free helper today! Thanks for the 1.5, its now my preferred helper and the program is definitely more than a scripter. I'll be lined up for the next version. To enjoy (let alone stay alive) trade wars, one has to have a good helper. On the "Doh!" note, it updated from 1.49 to 1.5 and I happily didnt even think about importing my database, I just opened it. |

1.49 is fine. That was the alpha for 1.5. ITs 1.156 (the last released version) that has the problem. quote: Thanks for the 1.5, its now my preferred helper and the program is definitely more than a scripter. Just like to post my 2 cents here. I have used J-TWAT for more then 6 months, been very very happy with it! BUT the other morning the update was released and of course when asked I said "HELL YEAH" update me! Thinking this was gonna be better. Well its worse! In past 6+ months J-twat may have crashed on me 10 times tops, in past 3 days the udpated j-twat has crashed on me more then 20x. For examples... Ship Exploring, trade no haggle.... run by a sector that had 6 planets in it, crashed j-twat I tested this and everytime I went by the sector while ship exploring it made j-twat crash. This is just one of the many times it has crashed. I do like alot of the items you added to it, but have found it almost unusable presently for some of the key items I used j-twat for. If you are interested in knowing all teh problems I have with the new version let me know I would be more then glad to put that together. |

This would be an example of a major "show stopping bug". This is one I will take time to fix, as it affects everyone and the entire helper. Of course send me all your problems, etc. Fill out a bug report, or send me an email. If the program crashes, be sure to attach jtwat.log from your jtwat directory (do this before you start the program again, so it has useful info) to the email that you send. I might not fix all the problems, but I'm always willing to take a look. ------------------------- badboy@goosemoose.com ICQ# 105123166 Download your free helper today! Nope they were macros that I had created after the upgrade...and I remade them all that next day and havent had the problem since. Yes I have tried doing a fresh database update before running the bubble finder. Same difference. [red] Stop saying don't quote me because noone quotes you. MORE BUGS OK...my saved macros disapeared again. If you have been running the program for awhile, cashing, colo, whatever...the update database will not run. You have to close and restart j-twat. The chat box stops working after awhile. P-drop script does not work...did I post that last time? Explore script doesn't work after you have a very high percentage explored...current game im at 93% and explore script just wants to keep going to sector 2000. BUt that same bug was in jtwat before the 1.5 update. Exact same thing happened to me in a past game. And I do mean 2000 not 20,000. Stop saying don't quote me because noone quotes you. One more thing I'd have to add that more than one of us (in my corp) who use j-twat have seen is that when it starts to "bug out".. everything you type is either double-spaced or in an echo... like this: (by typing 2319 to move to that sector I see the following double-spaced echo): 22 33 11 99 (or the following double spaced text): 2 3 1 9 It's kind of annoying actually, and I find it occurs whether I am using J-Twat itself or using it with TWX Proxy. |

ALmost always occurs when using twxproxy with jtwat and sometimes when not. heh...2319 = 22113399....hehe..yeah...if your typing very slow, if you key those in quickly you will get 21321939 or some crap like that and then ya gotta sit there and think about if you typed it wrong. Whats worse...after the helper has been running for awhile the chat box stops working...so, you start sending messages normally right? heh...good luck figuring out what you just typed! and don't typo, you will have no idea how far you need to backspace to fix it. Bugs and observations that are consistent for me: 1) I get the echo also while using TWX. Its interesting that I can type small 't' which is displayed and then a couple space over it will echo a capitol 'T'. Checking sector numbers you have entered is a nightmare. Plus JTwat will lose sync with TWX and I have to reconnect to TWX. And data passed along by TWX can have glitches causing corruption in J-Twats database. The ANSI codes show up here and there. I.E "[3;". 2) The chat is pretty broken after awhile and will fill up with fighter reports. The scroll bar stays at the top so you have to manually scroll down to see if there's any new text. 3) I find that I'm using the 'Reset Helper' alot when the scripts refuse to start anymore. Save db, and load db after reset. 4) Never gotten the ship capture script to work. It looking for a something I'm not providing. 5) I've gotten P-Torp and move to work. Havent tried the other P-Torps yet. 6) Have yet to get any 3rd party ZOC/REXX script to work. 7) Bubble finder rarely works if a full ZTM hasnt been done. Still, I have come to accept that J-Twat gets pissy and I need to avoid certain things, and do certain things to get it working right again. Why do you think its called J-Twat? I use it everyday and find some of its features are excellent. |

I mentioned this on the sourceforge bug tracker but figured i'd post it here as well. J-TWAT 1.5 really hates JRE 1.4 Specificly: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: de/mud/jta/Main at TWLaunch.main(TWLaunch.java:63) I'n not a java programer but maybe somebody who is can point me in the direction of a solution |
