CK Super Photon v. 1.5.4 has been uploaded to scripter's tavern (http://www.twtavern.com). The companion script, CK Refresh Figs, has also been uploaded. Neither of them are showing up in the download list yet, so I guess SupG manually adds them.

Notes:

This script will react to fighter/limpet hits and move you adjacent to your target to photon them. You can choose Pwarp, Tpad, or Twarp to get you there, or you can ignore distant hits and fire only at adjacent hits. You can also choose Density mode, which does continuous density scans and fires at any changes.

You can select to fire a single Photon, or keep firing until you run out.

When using Pwarp mode, you can have your planet return to its home sector or stay wherever it fired from.

I strongly recommend using CK Refresh Figs to build a fighter file, rather than relying on the TWX database for fig info. TWX only contains fig info on sectors it has "seen", instead of pulling the info from the "G" report.

The script has been extensively "idiot-proofed", and reacts favorably to almost any imaginable circumstance. However, once the script is running, I recommend that you do NOT change your prompt, or type subspace/fedcom messages, unless you use a macro and know exactly what you are doing.

After any action sequences, the script summarizes what took place in case you missed something as all of the screens were flying by.

Disclaimer:
This script has been tested extensively by me, and by a small team of volunteer beta testers, but is not guaranteed to perform as desired or expected, and could end up getting you killed if you use it improperly. Be fully prepared to take all responsibility for whatever outcome results from running this script.

SCRIPT REQUIREMENTS
-------------------

- For Pwarp/Tpad/Twarp, you must have a good ZTM done (or lots of manual exploring) so the script can plot distances.

- For File Datasource, you must first run CK Refresh Figs to create the fig data file. The latest version of CK Refresh Figs is 1.1.0

- COMPUTER SETTINGS
(1) ANSI graphics - On
(2) Animation display - Off
(3) Page on messages - Off
(9) Abort display on keys - SPACE
(A) Message Display Mode - Compact

Thank you for the fire Power to the public Cherokee.. Some of us don't have the time to sit down and write a script as good as this one... Thank you ...

It looks like with the release of twx 2.0 that CK is modifying all his scripts. The ones that I can find now are located here(but do not include the super photon):

http://tavern.homeip.net/
You need to login and then click on scripts.

A lot of scripts can usually be found at:
http://www.scripterstavern.com
but...it doesnt appear to be working today. maybe I have the address wrong? shrug. g'luck.

I have decided that I will make many of my combat scripts available in a CK Combat Script Pack. Purchase of a license will be required. I'll be posting more details on my website, http://tavern.homeip.net in the next few days.

There are many reasons for the licensing requirement.

1. It puts a little money in my pocket to BEGIN to compensate me for all of the hours I've spent making my scripts as good as they are. I'm not going to get rich, but I might get enough back to pay for my dedicated TWGS server, which would be a very pleasant outcome.

2. It limits the usage of these high powered scripts only to those who are interested enough to put their money where their mouth is.

3. It encourages Registration of TWX Proxy. My combat script pack will only work for Registered TWX users.

4. It will encourage me to continue writing TWX scripts for the public. This includes both free scripts (like my SDT script that over 60 people are now using) and licensed scripts.

Initially, the CK Combat Script Pack will include:

A Pdrop script with a variety of options.
A Super Photon script with a variety of options.
A Ship Cap script, which works extremely well, but has limited options that will probably be expanded in the coming weeks.
A Lawnmow script to clear sector figs very quickly.
A Sector Surround script to prevent your enemy's pod from fleeing
...and a few other utlity type scripts that the combat scripts need.

Apparently the super photon script was for twx 1.x. His website says that he's not going to release combat scripts for twx 2.0 to the public. :(

If the 1.x version was public before, then I should be able to use it.. don't suppose anyone's got it that wants to share... :p

Doh... Didn't see your post, Cherokee. Hmm.. I wouldn't mind paying a few bucks for a good combat script pack. I've already registered swath and twxproxy.. a few bucks more won't hurt.

Can't wait.. gotta few ppl I wanna give some payback to... I'm tired of naming my merchant cruiser "fubar"

The new CK Combat Script Pack (including CK Super Photon 2.0.1) is intended for TWX 2.xx. Despite my website, which I haven't had a chance to update yet, I will be making combat scripts available, under the CK License described in a previous post.

I'm not supporting any of my old TWX 1.xx scripts. I can't prevent distribution of the old scripts, but over time, I believe the improvements I've made (and the improvements in TWX 2.xx) will make the upgrade obvious for most people.

CK Super Photon 2.0.1 is fully 50 milliseconds faster than CK Super Photon 1.5.5. It also features specific trader targetting, an anticipation mode, and on-the-fly removal of fig hits from the fig list. Not to mention the inclusion of the other scripts in the Pack...
