Well, it still needs some work. I've been trying to think of curriculum, as I have time on my hand tonite. I'd like to see a public script disected and explained.
I'm interested in the process of as writing as well;
1.)See the need for a script, like an idea, or 'what if.'
2.) Chart out the steps the script will take.
3.)Work out the actual code/routine.
You can see here that I'm guessing at what I'm missing. Like a typical beginning student, I see the seniors and go "Heck, I wanna put out THAT effect, how do they do it?"
Also, I'm interested in some processes like 'Find nearest' & 'ZTM' and how they work. I wouldn't mind a class on 'saveme' and pdrop.
Should we have a poll? Nominate subjects, then vote for favorite topics? That would get a feel for the interest out there.

I went into the wayback machine and you can find a very simple script that should be simple to figure out:

You want to learn how scripts work, try this. It is super basic but it helped me learn stuff.
Make a script that starts on a planet in a loaded sector. Have it leave the planet then land. It will need to get the planet number. This simple process has to use numerous commands, but it is easy to do.
Plus here is a trick. If any script stops you can do 2 things.
1. Type $st and you can see what trippge it is waiting for and sometimes you can make a script do that instead of restarting it.
2. Type $sv and you can look at all the variables the script is using and you can see if you get the correct info.
That is my contribution.
Thanks to Alexio and Jhereg for teaching me the basics.

I can come up with the agenda for the first couple of sessions. There are a number of topics that I get asked over and over
I can sketch them out and post them as I have more time.
Keep working on the when/where/how in the mean time.
Thanks,

For anyone scripting, make sure you know the above two tricks Wildstar provided. It will save you a lot of time and if those .cts script you have suddendly aren't moving, you can see what the trigger is and restart it.
Another thing to watch for when scripting is the CN9 setting - if you are looking for a trigger and it isn't showing up, that may be the problem.

Progress report: I am waiting on hearing back from the yahoo messenger people, I was checking to see how many could fit in a 'conference room' as I see no limit listed.
We could just do it like this; setup a time/date for the first class and everyone submit their yahoo address to me. Come Friday or whatever, I log on and invite EVERYONE... Sounds too easy to actually work!
I'll start a poll later today gauge interest and get a head count. Maybe poll for the best day next weekend, see which day works best. I'm waiting to hear from Yahoo or for someone else to come up w/ a better idear...
