Re: The Future of CK Combat Scripts
Greetings all. In cleaning up my hard drive, I've come across all of my old twx source code. Is there still any interest, or are these so obsolete that they're no longer of interest to anyone?

You can attach files here now. If you just want to zip them up and attach them on your next post, we can do the rest.

Re: The Future of CK Combat Scripts
Here's the unencrypted source to the majority of the publicly released CK scripts, and a few scripts that were never released.
I don't remember exactly what was "polished" and what might still have been in development. 2 ship grid I remember was more of a novelty than anything. It goes without saying that I'm providing these "as-is" with absolutely no guarantees that they'll work correctly, that the tactics they employ are still valid, or even that they'll run. I haven't had TWX installed for about 7 years.
Note that the combat scripts make reference to "_ckinc_validate.ts" - this was the authentication subroutine which ensured that the user had a CK License. It should be pretty easy to strip this out.
The last complex script I wrote was "CK Explore Trade" - this was the script that took advantage of the 50 xp from discovering a port due to the aged game in USO 2004, and basically won the game for us on day 1.
I'm providing these because I continue to get requests every so often, and it appears that people are still curious as to how I went about certain things. Frankly, at this point, I've forgotten more about TW2002 and TWX scripting than I remember, so I'm really in no position to answer questions.
Be Gentle - I wrote all of these initially to aid in my own play and that of my corpies - the intention wasn't to produce commercial grade software. Looking back on this all these years later, there are definitely things I'd do differently. Hopefully these can be instructive to some, or at least amusing to others.

Re: The Future of CK Combat Scripts
Whoa, Thank you so much! Totally made my weekend, if not year! Your scripts, and some of the concepts, are what make scripting fun for me. Too awesome, again, thanks CK, you da man!
