You missed the subtle hint Stien left in another thread. To paraphrase: there will no ether probing of your rear-end No, I seen the statement that they would provide a registered version that wouldn't require server authenticaton IF they ever decided to take down the server. What gets me is WHY they don't have that in writing at the time of the sale. A guarantee in writing would be much more convincing than a statement in a forum.

 Re: SWATH again!
This is a product that is being actively supported, what's the problem? If you don't like it, as you've said, then don't buy it, as you've said. Let's not give the impression that there is a problem with Swath. Is it not the most popular helper with the exception of twx? By overwhelming majority? I can count on one hand the number of times I've had troubles with the authentication server in the past 6 yrs or so..

 Re: SWATH again!
You guys not understanding what I'm saying. I'm not complaining about the products quality, or the service the product has to offer. It sounds like a great product. However, if Microsoft required me to go to one of their websites to authenticate Windows every time I used it, I'd be using another operating system.

 Re: SWATH again!
I agree, having to go thru an involved authentication process every time would be a huge hassle. The actual process occurs when connecting swath to a server..so happens for me when I start a new game..and takes like 3 secs.. I set up the database in swath and connect to twx..it flickers and sends it's inquiry, and connects to auth. server, gets an ok, and we're good.
Not sure the windows example is a great one, however, as I've had serious and multiple hassles with the constant updates, patches, software tools...all needing to be downloaded and installed, and requiring a restart. Sigh. And yet I am still an abused PC user. Paint me simple I guess.
There may be other ways to secure the software, but I did google "SWATH 1.3.1 crack" heh, that's pretty scary!!
