Hey there! I am looking for a script that will run like a ship explore script, but instead of trading, it will go around upgrading all the ports it comes across by a set amount. Anything like that exist? It would reap HUGE profits on my Port trading, but I dont REALLY feel like doing it all one by one

Thanks for the help!

well it could be done.. but against strong comp u run the risk of them taking ur ports..
also upgrades to buy take a while to get to the new level... varies depending on what port regen is set to in game

Set to 200% Regen, and I can share, I play Corwins Roleplay server, good stuff

Edit: If this CAN be done, or if it exists, I would REALLY appreciate if
someone could supply me with Either a link, or possibly even create the
script if its not a pain in the Butt

well if u have mombot for twx... it has a built in max command... example...
>max e noexp
that would max that port for Eqp...
just change letter for what u want to max... f o e

that or leave noexp off... varies depending on the comp on if u worry about exp points...
but that doesn't explore for u... but u don't want to up evrey port u see anyway... just port pairs and ones u can control...

I am sorry, call me a newb but I have no idea what that is I think I have Twgx....  So would it roam around and upgrade all the ports it gets too? or just upgrade the one port I am at? Because if it just does the one that is kind of a mute point....

I don't care if it doges photons or planet drops, but I WOULD like it to density scan and not warp into sectors above a certain density level. OR something to that extent...

Could be done, sure... but...

Warping around manually is just a bad idea. Either ewarp or mow because you'll be exposed on the runs. You can't dodge a photon like that, it'll hit you because you're scanning. Then they'll kill you and take all your money. Result? The ports don't get upgraded.

And upgrading the ports it finds randomly means spending a lot of money on ports that are easily found, and putting all of the upgrades close together in a cluster (making them trivial to find all in one lump).

A smarter approach would be to pull ports you've explored (either thru other gridding or thru probing or whatever), run them thru a filter (distance from dock, terra, certain X ways, traffic counts, proximity to the end of your grid, proximity to enemy figs, MCIC, corp limpets, etc) and pop out a list of good ports. Upgrade a certain number of those randomly, scattered over your list.

Then upgrade whatever parts of that port you need via tpad warp or pwarp (pwarp in an unlim, twarp/tpad to save turns) while another corpie runs saveme. Put the cash you need for the rest of the ports in the citadel (grab as needed) and have a corpie put personal limps in the sector if you're worried about privacy.

Since you'd only be warping to sectors that are figged... the worst that could happen is you'd lose the creds on you, most likely worst case scenario would be eating a torp and getting a saveme, and more than likely you'd have a safe, secure, turn efficient, port upgrader. While you're there maybe do a safe surround or drop a limpet.

Anyway, think a bit on the problem and you'll have a solution. Is it possible tho? Absolutely. Does it currently exist? Nope, most people only upgrade a dozen or 2 dozen ports per game, with the exception of fuel buydowns in unlims, so why bother? In the case of fuel buydowns most buydown scripts (atleast mine) automatically upgrade the ore as it goes.

uhh, you guys miss that this is for corwins roleplaying server?  no offense intended...just need to consider the needs of the script...  no need to avoid pdrops and such, as not heavy combat server, eh?
So if youi just want to up the ports as you roam..couldn't a grid/world trade script just be adapted?  say have it send a macro to up the port by X prior to moving on?    I think this is more what he's after...

I understand that this particular game is a role playing, let me build my empire type game, but I believe most of us have a strong aversion to creating something that our enemy would take and use easily.  Mass upgrading ports is asking for another corp to take the sectors and use them up, and it uses up cash on low MCIC ports.  A better method would be to only upgrade in a very large bubble that you can control using xBB ports with a high MCIC and xSS ports for product.
Corwin's server meets a need for a very small percentage of players and while this script could be written, I would not write it since I don't feel it is practical for more than this game.  I write scrpts for a situation a lot of times, but usually those are attack scripts of some type that I can easily modify for another game.  In Corwin's game, I would simply move by hand to safe grid/upgrade sectors I feel I could control.
