It's the skill of the player, not the speed of the scripts that will win games. Give a noob a pdrop script, and they might end up losing their planet. (Have seen it happen). Scripts without knowledge is a quick way to pod nirvana.

Well, what some complain about isn't skill level... it's tricksiness versus scripts.

I had a player several games back try to land on my photon planet... well if you've seen my photon script you'll know that's impossible. He spent all this work torping under figs and doing all of this stuff, only to find out he was beaten by a program.

Later on he tried it again, I watched him on the logs firing fotons and shut it off, setup a trap area and turned down the cannon so he wouldn't have enough figs to kill mine... then let him land. He got wisked away to an isolated area where he podded out and couldn't flee (another reason why torping under a line of figs is a bad idea, lol). Quick death.

That, too, was blamed on a script when he started whining the next day. Like I have a script that does all of that. Laff.

Some people are, simply put, not smart. They don't get how stuff works. They don't get game mechanics, they don't understand... period. And it's so over their head that you might as well be talking about magic. So they blame what makes sense to them... even if it's a complete load of horse crap.

The problem with stupidity is that it never recognizes that it's dumb. If it did it could adjust it's patterns and possibly get smarter. All of the experience in the world, all of the training, all of the "oh, let me help you little newb" won't do jack for these people because they can never solve their one, overriding, systemic flaw.

You can make a completely different game, one that supposedly doesn't allow scripting (LOL)... or ban it in the game, or the server, or whatever you want. Nothing will help in the end. It won't solve the problem. The only way to solve the problem is beat the dumb out of them, over and over again, until they either leave or get so sick of dying that they start listening and grasp a spark of clue.
