Barring any unforeseen complications, I'll be hosting another TWX Proxy scripting session on 9/11 at 10 PM Eastern Daylight Time. Logins will be allowed beginning at 10, and the scripting discussion will be from 10:30 to approx. 11:30.

The subject matter this time around will be more basic (and hopefully more useful) than the loop/array discussion from two weeks ago. I realize that this will be utterly fruitless for many of you, but at the same time should be a good entry-level discussion for the non-scripters out there that need a place to start. Even mature scripters may learn a thing or two about triggering techniques, though this won't be a full-blown triggering discussion.

If Sing and Traitor are willing and available, I'd like to have them help as well, not only in answering questions, but in ensuring a smooth discussion.

You will need to download Skype, a free Voice over IP client, available at http://www.skype.com. You will need the latest version. Once Skype is installed, goto https://skypecasts.skype.com/skypecasts/home and at the top right of the page, in the "Find a Skypcast" box, type TWX Proxy. You should see and be able to join the skypecast as early as 10:00 EDT, but I won't start talking shop until 10:30.

I think for the next fundamentals class, we should write a script together. I mean, participants will open up notepad and type in stuff, then save and launch. What do you guys think about that? I mean, it's one thing to look at what someone has written, but its something else altogether to type it in yourself and watch it work. Thoughts?

I like that idea...we should be getting some lines written. Maybe give us a problem and see the different approaches to solve.
I also liked your idea at the end of the class to write out the script in non-scriptease, just roughly sketching out the outline of what you want the script to do.
