Okay, for those interested in attending...
You will need to download Skype, a free Voice over IP client, available at http://www.skype.com. You will need the latest version.

Once Skype is installed, goto https://skypecasts.skype.com/skypecasts/home and at the top right of the page, in the "Find a Skypcast" box, type TWX Proxy.

If you spelled it right, you should see the skypecast. It will be joinable as early as 9:45 EDT tonight, but I won't start talking shop until 10:30.

If you can't make it for the whole session, don't sweat it. I'm more after a proof-of-concept than a flawless webinar. I guarantee we'll learn something, even if that something is that skypecasts are a poor medium for this sorta thing.

Tonight's session probably won't be recorded, but I hope to follow it up with another session that we'll record, or perhaps a downloadable mpeg that I'll put together. So don't worry about saying anything stupid if we pass you the mic ;)

And that's how I'd like the format to go. I'll yap a bit, drop some code for you guys to look over, explain it, then take questions. If you guys have a headset or mic, I'll attempt to pass you the microphone and let you ask your question so that everyone can hear. Otherwise, you should be able to type out your question and we'll respond that way.

Hope to see you all there,
+EP+

Nice, session over... peaked at like 12-14 people!

Skypcast worked great. Audio was great, but could easily get loud when everyone was unmuted... especially Jester's keyboard ;)

For those that missed it...
I *hope* to put together a broadcast for download covering the same subject matter. Tonight's session wasn't recorded, and I now believe that it would be a bad idea to try and record it live, as there's quite a bit of chaos and a few bored Dutchmen that would distract from the materials ;)

Very cool to be able to put a voice with many of you guys and gals. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Next class will probably be in two weeks, on 9/11. I haven't finalized the material, but it will be TWX fundamentals. For some of you it will be GREAT, while others will learn nothing new. But I'll probably devote the whole hour to topics like saving and loading scripts, using echoes and trigger/variable dumps for debugging, and basic text parsing techniques.

We'll omit things like loops, arrays and database queries for this one ;)

Thanks Loc, Vulcan.
