So, you have several choices to choose from:
1) Move to TWX v2.03, as released by Xide, and do not use any scripts that do any math operations. This includes any script pack 2 scripts that perform any math operations.
2) Move to any one of the currently publically available TWX Proxy programs, supported by authors other than Xide.
3) Continue to use TWX v2.02 until the authentication servers go down, and then abandon TWX all together.
4) Just abandon TWX Proxy completely.
You forgot:
5) Learn how to script. Write your own scripts. It's good for your brain. Start small, look at the public scripts, read the tutorials that are on twxproxy.com and tw-cabal.com. And ask questions in this forum, and the GrimyTrader.com forum (when it opens [:D]).
I get as much enjoyment from scripting as I do from playing anymore.
One day, my WorldBot will be finished...Then, fools, I'll destroy you ALL!!! Bwah ha ha ha ha [}:)]

Previous Binary Releases:
TWX Prpxu v2.05RC
TWX Proxy v2.03 Build 13
Previous Soure Releases:
TWX Proxy v2.03 Build 13
TWX Proxy v2.03
On a side note, you are being a bit alarmist here. Math functions work fine in 2.03, they just work more precisely than in previous versions. This is not a bad thing, really, just something different. Also, no one said your converter wasn't good, he just stated he personally has no use for it.

The scripts on grimytrader are marked as being for either 2.02 or 2.03, though some are open source (.ts) and will run on both. As to Wabbit's releases, I have no idea how compatible they may or may not be. I'm using 2.03 and am quite happy with it. I haven't seen a real need to upgrade yet, so I'm sticking with what works for me.

heh,
I'm still getting away with using 2.02
Sorry I'm lazy, I did start to move my scripts over.
Now to figure out where I left off.

Wow, no idea I had sparked such a debate.
I have a couple new questions if anyone cares to help out still.
I know I should learn to write my own scripts, but I am really happy with what is out there and I doubt I could do more than screw them up horribly in trying to do them myself.
I switched to 2.03 and it doesn't check for reg anymore and all the pack two scripts seem to be there, but... They are all having to compile on the fly now. What do I need to do to get them pre-compiled so they execute faster? Normally this isn't a problem but having to wait a second or two for the script to compile does get annoying and could be dangerous depending on the script.
The only other script I really miss in moving to 2.03 is SupG's ztm. I like to have a really good ztm of the universe, it helps me and I liked his script best of all that I tried. I got the zip of all his scripts from grimy trader but they are all still 2.02. He does include the source, could I compile the 2.02 source and hope it works with 2.03? Or would a ztm rely on too much math and so the differences would break it?
Thanks again for the help and the additional discussion.

Don't worry, you didn't start the debate, its been simmering for awhile now
To precompile your .ts scripts there is a utility in your TWX folder called TWXC.exe. You can either run this as a command line utility or simply drag and drop the .ts file onto the program icon.
Almost all .ts scripts will run fine on both 2.02 and 2.03. The math issue is rarely a problem and in any case, ZTMs do little to no math, they just plot a lot of warp courses. SupG's ZTM in .ts will work just fine on 2.03, or if you want it to load (not run) very slightly faster, then you can precompile it.

I've been a little out of the loop lately on TWX updates due to work and developing the forum area for the Grimy Trader. The forum area is about 90% done now and I hope to have it up for public use in the next couple of weeks. But with regard to the various versions of TWX scripts being posted to the Grimy Trader site, I would prefer not to have separate categories for each mild version upgrade but rather separate it by significant version updates that are meant to be used for more than just a few weeks until the next greatest thing. It sounds like the .ts files from 2.02 still work with the later versions and now with the re-compiler that it will even update .cts files from 2.02 to run under 2.10 (and the others?) So if 2.10 becomes the next 'standard' and won't be changed to 2.11 nearly immediately then it probably makes sense to add that as a new version category on the site.

Rammer, also soon you’re going to have two different versions of TWX released by two different developers.

and I'm not sure that is a good thing SD, they need to work together a develope a combined effort. and Wabbit, nothin against u, but ur responses to others posts leaves a bad taste in my mouth, u are a little rude to peeps here. So u know a little more, maybe alot more, but a little more tact is called for or should be given I should say. U seem very defensive and Rude in Some of ur post, we accept that from Slim ( most the time...lol ) but when ur degrading to others I know and Played with, ur degrading urself more... Just mho

It may be a bit late to undo the damage done by misinformation, but I'll give it a whirl. Keep in mind that decimal numbers were never supported prior to 2.03.
All math functions of all whole numbers work identically under versions 2.02 & 2.03 of TWX except division. Under 2.03, division is rounded to the nearest whole number instead of truncated. The effects are as follows:
-If a script was written for 2.02, and a division operation is performed, then it will be of 2 whole numbers, and the answer may be off by 1. Addition, Subtraction, and Multiplication of whole numbers is completely unaffected.
-If a script is written for 2.03, and makes use of the setPrecision function, the operarands are first rounded to the specified precision, operated on, then again rounded to the specified precision. The lesson here is to use a much higher precision (18) when operating, then use the Round function to specifiy the desired precision.
I know of no public scripts that use setPrecision or Round, therefore the only math concern is division.

Then Wabbit, if I wanted to use this .cts converter where do I get it from? I have been to the link many times not once could I find a link to download a .cts converter. Is it that I have to ask you personally for the program?
If you’re trying to help all us non-enlightened users of TWX out why not make the converter publicly available.
Well, lets see....
I have never stated that the converter was available from the TWX Proxy Group's website. Nor did I claim that it was currently available to the public, yet. Ender made those claims, not I.
The only claim that I have made in regards to it. Is that I had created one, and that it was in need of testing prior to it's release to the public. I did plan on having it released to the public some time ago, like when v2.10 was released. But, a major bug was found and corrected. And I am still awaiting for ALL of my testers to give it a clean bill of health.
You can verify that by reading up on the news articals that were posted on the TWX Proxy Group's website. News articals not on the main page can be seen by clicking on the News Page button.
I currently have 8 people testing the converter. And with the exception of Ender, non of them have reported any issues with the latest build of the converter.
And Ender, prior to his comments here, had never told me of any issues he might have been having with the converter and the scripts that were converted by it. Even then it took my seeing his comments here, and having to ask him what problem(s) he was having. Before he even mentioned anything to me. But he only supplied me with a two sentence issue report. Which gave me no clue as to what he was talking about, or were to even begin to look for the problem in the source code. Since that time, I have requested from him pecific detailed information, along with the names of the specific scripts he is seeing the problems with, for which he has promtply ignored.
If you would like to help out in the testing of the converter, then I'll be happy to include you as a tester. You'll have to contact me by email so that I can send it to you.
Sorry, emails from GMail accounts cannot be excepted. All five of the email servers that I can use for outgoing emails, are unable to send any kind of email to a GMail server/account.
FYI, future versions of the compiler will be updated for all version of TWX Proxy Pro. And depending on how EP codes the Official version of TWX Proxy. Well dictate if I'll be able to add full, or only partial, support for the Official TWX. But, I will do what I can.

Thnx for the information. I have no knowledge of any problems with any script source code, i.e. .ts files, not working with 2.05, or 2.10. But, that does not mean anything.
I would like to have the complete detailed information on this. As I would like to take care of it. If it truely is an issue with TWX Proxy Pro. I do have support forums that you can post the specific details. You can reach it from the Support Forums button on the project's website.
If you do not wish to post the information there, then please post the detailed information on the project's SourceForge bug tracker.
I'd prefer that you post the information at either of the two places mentioned above. Because it is publically available to all that wishes to see it, and/or track it. But, if you have to send it to me by email. Then go ahead and send me the information by email. You can get my email address from my profile here or from the projects website.
