I like Revs, I normally run it 100% and it is pretty accurte, I sometimes run a twx one after ( I think its SupGs ) and it hardly finds anything rev's missed, but sometimes it does

If you are using Zoc/TWX combo, FC has it dead to rights. Rev's stuff is killer and the best part is that one ZTM (Rev's-Zoc) is like killing two birds with one stone. No need to ZTM with a TWX script because it's already done. I have had 0 problems, and i run all of rev's stuff.

On the ZTM topic, I find it very interesting. I have NEVER had a problem with Ck's ZTM. I run it and get 99.99% or 100%. Others run it and get less. I'm not sure why. I personally have had horrible experiences with Supgs (nothing personal, there is a logic flaw in his method). I use Ck's ever game, and never have a problem. And I use ZTM data very intensely and require it to be 99.99% accurate. I can't comment why, but when I talk to Ck tonight I'll ask him about it some, perhaps he has some good ideas.

Jhereg, let me know what the logic flaw is..

As far as I know, i'm using the reverend's method, with one change that shouldn't make a difference.

The only problem with mine i've come across is when it's run in screwed up universes with lots of long warps that exceed the maximum warp course.

If you could let me know what's wrong that'd be cool... Thanx

I loved the SupG's ztm .. it did same thing Cherokees did in 2.02 .. but one time ..SupG's sent me out of SD space ..
Well we can't have that ..

So I went to Ck's .. it never did that .. and I need to have comms on .. like these 2 scripts do .. Rev's does not .. its kinda like swath .. no comms .. its all blacked out.

I like ztm'n and watching SD for others .. duel jobs [;)]

Just so you know .. I'm using twx 2.03 now .. so I need Ck's ztm to work .. and it doesn't :(

The only reason it'd send you into space is if you hit a key, or had another script running at the same time and it hit a key. It doesn't do anything different than Ck's in those terms, just bursts computer plots.

Mine will warp me out if I get dropped and reconnect while running it.

Supg,

The logic flaw I found is this.

You and Ck and Rev all use void plotting. Which is accurate. The problem is how the void plotting works. In Ck's (I don't know rev's but I'll ask him tonight), he picks a sector, voids its adj, and plots to another sector. There is a small room for error that there isn't a route that way (very slim). In your method you void around two different sectors. Or so it has appeared to me. What is appears is

On the 1 warp checks, you void the surrounding sectors of Sector A and Sector B, than plot to B. If B was a DE, you would not get a route from A to B, even though A is a 6 warper, since B's only route in is voided. When you void on either side of a route, or more than voiding adj to one sector, you increase the change of missed warps. The probability, while low, will happen with the number of calculations. That has been my experience. When i run yours vs a single void plot (mine or Ck's) I see yours consistently has fewer warps.

Jhereg

In my void plots, it voids the known warps out of Sector A and plots to a random Sector B, it doesn't void any of the sectors surrounding Sector B, by this theory, if I avoid all the known warps out of Sector A, then it shouldn't map a course, if it does, it gets rechecked on the next void plot.

My ZTM has a maximum of 7 passes..

pass 1 : Just gets at least one warp out of every sector.
pass 2 - 6 : Void plots, first goes through sectors with only 1 outgoing warp and voids it, then tries to plot a course out, then the next pass does 2 way warps and so on.
pass 7 : maps courses through one-ways to clear up any erroneous one-ways

The only problem I've run into is if there are a lot of very long warps that exceed the maximum course where you could get some false readings. For the most part it should be more than sufficient for any normal universe.

I've never tried yours or CK's, but I'm quite sure, if you ran mine with all 5 middle void plots it'd be just as accurate as any. If you leave it on auto, it might not be so. I could be wrong however, i haven't touched the code since I released it.. I've used it exclusively and never ran into problems in a 'normal' universe.

Supg,

I have run comparison running yours and CK's in the same game, and I get different results. When ever you void any sector other than the sectors immediately around Sector A, you add a chance you could create an "no path" when there is one, or at least so I believe. Don't get me wrong, your ztm is much faster than others out there, and I know many use it. Since I used very detailed warp data, I have had problems with it, and have to run a warp corrector on.

When I see your ztm run it looks like this
First pass plot
Second pass void 2 sectors, plot. Since this is only looking for one warpers, I assume you are voiding some other sector also?

Pass 2 only voids 1 sector or so it should... I ran it in a game within the last week and it all seemed to run correctly to me.. Shrug, I donno what would cause the difference.. Beats me.. :)
