The reason it bothers me is I listen to music,or internet shows while I play and it comes right through.Silly me,I do something while I play.Sometimes I script.I used to do homework.
Now I watch tv minimumized heh.
And I still havent found out what causes it.Guell I will live with it till I finish my ssm.

In swath 1.7.1 you can turn off sound by going to edit-preference- general-user alert settings and uncheck Player Alert sound, worked for me. Not sure about 1.6.1 been a long time simce i used that one 1.7.1 is a lot better than that

It has bee awhile since I tried this so names may have changed etc...
The beep is a part of the game, I think you can change it in the game settings, like where you turn your coms off.

The sound you mean could be the char 0x07 (beep).
Currently SWATH makes a beep for this character, but I will add an option to turn that off.

I am sure everyone can answer that for Xide without asking him. It is because it's so easy sometimes =)

If you have cn3 on, you will get internal speaker beeps on certain messages, if I remember correctly.

If software cannot access the sound card sometimes, it will just beep regardless of any settings.

I use zoc with twx and never get any sort of beeps. Of course, if these are internal speaker beeps, I don't have my internal speaker plugged in.

I am quite sure I can turn it off, since I do make a beep explicitly if the bell char (0x07) is received in the incoming text. Will add this option to the upcoming 1.8 release.

K3, i only get it when i wssm. never sst or sdt or anything like that. its like my computer is trying to tell me that i have too many turns, hehe. (JOKE! i do NOT need someone telling me how the # of my turns doesn't affect any type of beeping on my computer)
