So for my own amusement id like to pick out the best parts of all the helpers, maybee somebody would be inspired to write a helper that has all those parts in it. Id do it myself if I knew a lick about programming. I'd like to see what everyone else thinks too.
OH, ive never used ATTAC so its not included.
Swath
Status/Information Display
TWAR
Bubble Finder, with exception of very large bubbles.
Visual Map Diagram
J-Twat
Comms Window
Macro Tool
Built in Scripts
Eprobe/Ship Explore
Analysis Tool
Scroll Speed
TWX
Universaly Compatible with other helpers. Exception, versions
later than 1.07 not compatible with TWAR
Easiest to find scripts for
Overall Speed
ZOC
Custom Menu's and buttons
Automacro's and auto replies
The Revhelper!
So what sucks aboutem?
Swath
Lacks basic, NECESSARY built in scripts, ex. exploring
Its in the works???
TWAR
Gets scared when it sees a toll fig
Discontiued development, still has alot of potential.
J-Twat
Very unstable, crashes its database constantly.
Must be rocket scientist to use the bubble finder.
Not even sure that it works at all.
TWX
Nothing really. Overall good to go.
ZOC
Not really a helper so its as good as the script writers make it.
You go rev!
How much do I usem? Percentages don't add up cause I often use multiple at a time.
SWATH 25%, lessening
TWAR 5%, bubble finding only
J-TWAT 90%
TWX 100%
ZOC 25%, steady, unchanging in 3 years
I know that the helpers get voted on every year but after trying out Swath I can't understand why it rates so high. Is it just cause its perdy? So how does everyone else ratem?

J-TWAT's bubble finder does work. And you're right, it's not the easiest to read. Other than that, I pretty much agree with everything...never used TWAR. I do like J-TWAT's analysis stuff a LOT. And macros are the easiest ever. TWX is about the same, but I prefer being able to easily edit them on the fly and store them for later use and editing. I also use ZOC for quick scripts.

I use ATTAC and SWATH. SWATH can use Rev's Scripts as it supports REXX, some of them seem to want aditional parameters so they break and need to be rewritten or something to work on SWATH. Java scripts also work and there is a SmartExplore script that can explore for you. Also a MoveExplore1 for day one exploring.
Go here for the SWATH Java scripts:

J-twat is a memory hogging, locking up, unable to save a game, crashing POS and the bubble finder is only acurate if you painfully wait for 2 days for the ZTM to finish. It does have some good points. I like the "auto" features of the scripts, auto trade, auto ssm, based on a port search. It has some nice searching features for what J-twat has seen in the game but could be expanded and since you cant save a game without a crash its useless once you leave the game for the day. Love the multi ship SST, it rocks as long as it doesnt crash your system. It doesnt work with TWX, you get another whole line of echoed characters if you try it. Other than that the macros in Swath are just as easy to use and just as good and actually work if you assign them to a F key unlike J-twat.
Swath in my opinion is still currently the best helper if used along with TWX. You get the stability of Swath without crashes and the speed of TWX. Swath has the best bubble finder providing you run a good ZTM. Its visual map rocks and blows away anyone elses. It does have only a few built in scripts but the idea was to have a stable interface for playing a game and not to add 50 different inflexable, unchangeable by user, scripts. Scripts can be written by users as they see fit with thier preferred options and flexability. Its data features could be better but there is plenty to work with. And its macros are only rivaled by the TWX burst. It has a macro recorder, like J-twat. Macros can be assigned to F keys that actually work when you press them, unlike J-twat. Macros can be set to run a specific amount of cycles by holding the key for 1 second and entering the number of times you want it to run. You can fire off TWX scripts with your macros for quick loading. It runs Rexx scripts as well as Java so it can run Zoc scripts or scripts written for J-twat in Rexx. The Rexx engine in Swath works with most scripts but is being worked on for improvements for some advanced scripting and support for a few commands that were overlooked. Only bad point I can find with Swath is the Java scripts are slow, not sure if it has to do with the way Swath runs them or the way they are coded but they are definately too slow. Many people have said its not the scripts as they can be written to run as fast as TWX but Swath wont let them.
TWX rocks. Scripting is easy to figure out, unlike Java. Scripts are plentiful and smokin fast, next best thing to a macro. It has some decent features but mostly I use it for the scripts, the rest of the features are better in Swath.
Zoc I tried once about 4 years ago and couldnt figure it out and dont have the want to memorize 80 different assigned buttons like Res or Rev do. Nuf said.
Attac I tried about 5 years ago and it sucked, it rated about with T-war. I havent tried it since because I fount Swath and TWX as the best combination for me currently and havent seen a need to change.
T-War blows, it has a very few nice features such as listing all port pairs so you can find the ones that trade the most for the most profit. Bubble finder is ok. The rest sucks and it crashes all the time. I almost regret paying for the registration and now would have to pay someone else to take it off my hands.

I wanted to make clear I do NOT recommend running J-TWAT as your primary helper. SWATH is my main window to stare at unless I'm doing a lot of qucik script stuff, then I stare at ZOC and keep hitting the legendary F keys when I need it. I usually only hook up J-TWAT when I'm gonna macro something (I just like J-TWAT macro better...so sue me [:D])or I want its database to do some analysis, and then I don't try to save it. I just run CIM data over and let it read that for analysis. I use SWATH for repetitve macros (gotta love reunning the same macro 1000 times.) [:D]
