Does anyone know of a script for TWX roxy that will explore the universe with a ship(Like TWAR for Windows), Drops figs and drop limpets all at the same time?? If not, I think it would be an awesme script to write. If anyof u have one, and don't mind sharing with Newbs like me...I'd appreciate your help. Thanx

Actually I know they are out there, have seen some people using them. It would be a nice scripts to get a hold of. Maybe I will write one once I am done with a couple other scripts that I feel have priority. I also wouldnt mind one if someone has one
I will respect you in the morning but I won't wake up till noon.

I could name several people who do have scripts to do that but they are Darn stingy and don't share. AHEM...boner, turky, and locust to name a few.

Being a script writer, I can tell you that the scripts you don't want to give out are those that you use the most often, or that you run for long periods of time; such as trade, explore, ssm, etc. Giving these types of scripts out is like going into very intimate detail about how you play and what everyone needs to do to kill you.

This I understand...but it seems that untill scripts are made public, there will be a huge imbalance in the game. I know I just finished a game with you Survey, and I was no match for your attack scripts...u killed me over and over....the only way to get you was wait untill u were offline and find where u were cloaked. It was hard as hell
but my point is that maybe scripts should be more public in order to really make strategy a main point again...not scripts!
just a thought,

Ive been fooling around with macros on SWATH and have come up with something thats ok! I have to set up 4 random sectors in my nav-menu...then when im ready I put the ship on course for that sector, exept I send it in regular warp so it stops in evry sector with a port or fig. when it stops at one of these sectors I engage my macro! It stops the ship, drops a fig and then automatically puts the ship back on course for the original sector. The only problem with this is that I haven't set it for limpets yet, and I have to manually put the ship on course to a new sector when I reach my final destination. Its not WONDERFUL but it shaves a bit of time off of the manual way. I want to put it into TWX scripts exept I don't know where to go to learn the scripting language?!? Heres my macro:
F5:shyf1\rcdn1ny
F6:shyf1\rcdn2ny
F7:shyf1\rcdn3ny
F8:shyf1\rcdn4ny
Any Ideas how to put this into script?

P.S. this is assuming you have a ship with TWARP and u haven't shut off the "do u want to engage Transwarp Drive" message in you computer menu.

The game is balanced. What isn't balanced is knowledge of how to play, knowledge of how to write scripts, and the application of one to the other. The player with the knowledge wins, and that's how it should be. If everyone gave out their scripts, any luser could download them and then the game would become pointless.
Fortunately, most of the same people who won't let you have their scripts are all too happy to teach you how to play and help you out when you're ready to write your own.

This is true, I have a few experience TWarriors helping be out now...but I'd like to know where to go to learn the script writing? I can see how just giving scrits to people would be the equivalent of cheat codes or cracks in other games. But I would like to know how to use my knowledge to make my own scripts. I have the knowledge...I'd just like to know the language now.

Being a SWATH user there is a Java tutorial link on the SWATH page. Also included in the download are sever example scripts (They do something simple, so you can see how the language is written). Being pretty Java-impaired myself, I never picked up that scripting ablility well, but as was pointed out, once you start trying to write them, there is plenty of help out there...
