A few years ago, there was a story about how some rich stock brokers built a whole new fiber optic trunk from Chicago to New York to shave a few milliseconds off their pings. Now The Atlantic has an article about a new stock exchange where speed isn't king. They impose artificial delays on trades. JP should have patented it.
