TV's is a v1 server. We were invited to play, we kicked butt, they tucked their tails between their legs and ran. Your boy Farley was on the team we beat twice. Now third rebang and they are a no-show. Can't blame them., we ROCK! on either version! |

If you want to brag about beating the few players that are left, feel free to feel good about yourself. The truth remains that you couldn't compete against Kraaken, Ground Zero, or Flying Aces. Those corps no longer exist because of your precious v2 and because many players refuse to put up with your antics. Have fun claiming that you are best as a result of the true competion leaving this game. As SG once said. Time tells all tales. TW is now history. |

Does Farley know how you feel about his playing skills? Farley knows exactly what his playing skills are. He's not a bad player, but the fact remains that he's not Ground Zero. You have never been able to beat Ground Zero, and now that it no longer exists, you never will. |

I know the whole v1/v2 thing has alienated a lot of players just has the bickering over it has alienated even more. There are players left and people are still playing.... I just wish we could move past what is past and play the game. Ive been wondering why this game brings out so much emotion. I myself have fallen victim to it lately and I never take anything personal. I have a question for the people who have quit because of v2. If you don't like v2 would it be better to try and change it from the inside? instead of leaving? I have a friend who is very anti-gun. He doesn't understand why all of the anti-gun people in this country don't just join the NRA. and change its politics from the inside. So instead of "voting with your feet" why not stay and be more and more vocal. force the issue. I'm not saying it will work. but its gotta be better then giving up. (FYI, I am a Life member of the NRA and a proud owner of many guns, I was just making a point) SK (not typed by Star Killer, but someone with two hands |

Joining an organization/political-party and changing it from within is not the same thing as trying to show a single person the error of his ways. The only thing one can do is vote with their feet. It would appear that the game is in a state of limbo, and its 'creator' is no longer interested. Personally I feel that theres some kindof power trip happening in which John thinks his design ideas will, in time, be accepted as the norm. The Ego will be vindicated at the expense of alienating a handful of people. Isnt this an example of the modern business model? P.S. i dont believe you can get v1 from the EIS website anymore. |

So true, but the sad part is the handfull of players were actually more like 70% of the players that were left before v2 came into existance. Also, you are correct. You can't get v1 from the EIS website anymore. However, there are still plenty of people ready to furnish the last v1 install and whatever it takes to open a v1 server. (wink) As far as Helix's remark, I won't respond to him except to say " TIME TELLS ALL TALES " & " I TOLD YOU SO " HERE LIES TRADEWARS!!!!! RIP |

Its largely down to what you are used to. I liked the HVS MBBS version, bugs and all. Stoneslinger had the latest one on his site couple three years ago, almost bug free. Found it 2010. Played mebbe a year there. Sadly gone. HVS is more newbie friendly, TXW database does not work well. It's reactive scripts are more or less useless. |
