hoping someone can help me figure out the Alien Editor.

I have 2 Races.. each have 4 ships created for them, however the <4> Resources, option: U-sample available ships, limits ships that each race can use to 2ship (even 65000 days into the game)..

The respective Alien ships are assigned in the ship editor to the respective Race, and option <C> Ships, indicates: ALien..

Does anyone know how to work this darn Alien Editor?
