The def and off on a ship, is that ship to ship odds, or does that include ship to planet odds? If you go into a sector that a planet has full ore, and your ship has 3.8 def odds and can carry 250k figs, does that mean you can deflect 950k ore from the planet? If anyone could shed some light on this, I am sure this is old info but I am learning something new everyday. thanks,
AeSoo

I believe ship to planet is 1:1 def odds.

Survive the sector cannon hit then you can attack the planet figs Ship off odds vs. planet def odds.

The ship odds aren't a factor concerning Qcannon blasts. The odds of cannons are always:
MBBS Mode
Sector blast damage = 1/3rd the amount fuel ore used.
Atmo blast damage = 2 times the amount of fuel ore used.
TWGS Gold Mode
Sector blast damage = 1/3rd the amount of fuel ore used.
Atmo blast damage = 1 times (or the exact amount of fuel ore used.

Ship offensive odds do matter when killing figs on a planet.
Planet odds are 3:1 in favor of the planet.
So if you have a ship with 3:1 odds, you will kill aproximately 1 fighter for every fighter you use.
Now planet figs that are set to offensive have less odds, 1:1 I think, but I'm not positive, and the defensive odds of the ship does matter.

Actually atmos in classic mode is 1/2 * the % of the fuel used. MBBS and Classic mode can both be gold. Gold denotes possible alien, ship and planet additons to either MBBS or Classic mode.

Classic Q-Cannon Formulas
Sector:
Damage = (Fuel * SectLvl %) / 3
Atmospheric:
Damage = (Fuel * AtmosLvl %) * .5
Example:
A typical L with 200,000 units of fuel ore, and 20% AtmosLvl, and 10% SectLvl will do 6666 points of damage to your ship when you enter the sector, and 18,000 damage if you immediately try to land on it after the sector fire.

Well I'm assuming he was talking about the only 2 modes available in TWGS.
MBBS or NON-MBBS. And in MBBS atmosphere hits for twice the amount of fuel ore used. I've tested it many times and I know this.

If the cannon uses 100k fuel ore, it will do 200k damage if MBBS mode is enabled. So it uses half as much fuel ore to do the same amount of damage.

BTW, this is what the game displays on the V-screen when MBBS is NOT enabled.

Ver# 3.13 Gold running under Sockets.

MBBS mode Atmos is % of fuel times 2 (Think Stock MBBS edit with internal ferrengi)
Classic mode Atmos is % of fuel divided by 2 (Think Stock Classic edit with internal Ferrengi)

Gold MBBS mode Atmos is % of fuel times 2 (Think Pirates)
Gold Classic mode Atmos is % of fuel divided by 2 (Think Hell on Earth)

Now answer this question. If the planet is abandoned for a month by a non-active player, then how would you go about invading that planet? What would you do 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc..?

I am just here to correct an error made by someone not knowledgeable in Classic TW mode.

1st, 2nd, and 3rd, I would read tw-cabal and ignore you.

If you don't know, you don't know, no need to resort to smack talk.
BTW, that information isn't available on tw-cabal.

He was asking for ship off odds vs. planet figs.

Not about cannon hits for the different modes.

But, just to clarify, this was up long before cabal:

At least your formulas are correct.

And at least I answered his question correctly without derailing this thread. The formulas weren't the question.

Actually a yes or no would have been good enough for my question, sorry Cruncher I was, asking about the planet ore blast to ship. Thanks again everyone my question had been answered.
