I know I have been gone *a couple* years.... (probably 8 or 9 now)
Why even set a limit on a game, when it's set to 60,000 turns?

Can anyone possibly burn off all those turns in one day?
Is this for a script that runs 24/7 unattended?

Yep it is possible to burn those turns in way less than 24 hours. I burned 5K in 1 hour earlier today running wsst.

LOTS of strategy can be done in this game.....

When photons are set to 1 second in an unlimited turn game they are basically useless. However, in a 60k turn game photons do have an effect. That's the biggest difference between unlimited turn and 60k turns.

60k turns can be burned very easily by a red especially if the TPW of the ship is very high, and rob and move delay are off.

If memory serves, photons still disable a player in an unlim game until the top of the hour, correct?

The player is disabled for however many minutes the photon duration is set for in seconds. 3 second photon, 3 minute move loss. Unless you are in v1.03 and then you just use the bug and get going again.

Good info Prom... this is why these games should be played by newer players, AND returning players... so they can see the progression of the actual Tradewars game. I requested this game because it is a PERFECT compromise... You have those that LIKE turns games for specific reasons and you have those that like Unlims for the OBVIOUS reason. So a game with the ship delay ON with 60k turns is a perfect compromise. In THIS game its pretty balanced, so if you want to be a RED, be a red and if you want to be a Blue, with these edits you can still be a force. Thanks again Micro!

LOL!!! I'm finding it quite comical how people are coming in this game and when they realize that ship delay in ON they immediately complain and then do a quick "CBY"... why are people SO afraid to play a game where they will actualy have to be creative and work for a win.

It's sad, but that's how it is. I've been considering a hybrid ship delay mode where you only have delays when you're interacting with others, but if you're out trading, you can move as fast as possible. I personally believe that turn limits are the best way to limit what a player can accomplish in a given day, not delays. The delays are only needed to pace interactive activities like combat. But the current delay system goes too far by slowing you down even when you're not interacting with others.

I remember the old days when it took one second per TPW for a ship to move. If I wanted to moth with a 15 TPW IDC, I would have to wait 15 seconds for the ship to move. And imagine having to tow an IDC.

Players today are spoiled.
