Hey all I am bringing my server back on line and am requesting a login to see if it is working okay. If it is then I will move it to the computer that will host it. Thanks, here is the servers address:

telnet://vulcansforge.homeip.net:23

or if you use swath or TWX you may have to type it in as seperate parts.

Thanks for anyone who logs on to see if it works. Thanks in advance

Thanks Prome, I wanted to know if the server was working, for some reason the router will not port forward to it and I had to DMZ the computer to make sure it connected to the outside world. Glad it works now in a few days I will setup the computer it will reside on as well as a version 1 TWGS and will run them on it. thanks again for the test.

Thanks Comet, were you able to play in the test game, sorry was working on things today if it went up and down a lot, was having issues with it trying to host two different servers, but may have to use a virtual machine to get it to host both TWGS versions properly.

I had to put each server on a sepreate machine. There are some files it simply can't share regardless how you seperate the directories. A Virtual Machine may work though.

i agree, I tried to put both on the computer and one would not start while the other was running so I figure that running a virtual machine will let both run being I can basically have two o/s's running on one comptuer and have one in the virtual machine and it should run both TWGS services on one comuter that way.

The problem is the files that are addressed in the registry, not the physical HD. If I remember correctly... and yea I tried separate physical HD's.

That's Correct. I am running TWGS in a Hyper-V VM without any problems though.

Yeah I tried partitioning the drive and same result, but I will be putting in a virtual dirive on the computer that will be hosting the two different TWGS and it should work with the info I gathered.

Also Ihave opened an unlimited test game on the TWGS tonight for anyone who wants to stress test it, just don't go into the BOTE Practice game on the TWGS unless you are an official BOTE player. That game is opened up tonight for them as well.

What do you mean by virtual drive?

You need a Virtual Machine (VM), either VM Ware, or MS Hyper-V should work on a server. If it is a desktop, you could use MS Virtual PC.
