Sorry if this is inconvenient, but I need to shut down the game to do maintenance on the computer and do backups. My plan is to take the game offline after 6pm EST today, and bring it back online at the stroke of 8pm EST. I believe I can set the game to inactive after I take it offline, and let the settings make it active once again at 8pm. (Please let me know if this won't work) Evenings are sometimes hectic around here and I don't want to get sidetracked and forget to bring it online again. This is the only fair way I can think to do this. People are complaining about being dropped after several minutes, and I'm not sure what is causing this. I'm hoping a simple restart may help the issue. RP |

On the main TWGS console you could just "Disable Logins" while doing maint. or just take TWGS off line by shutting it down. I guess it would be nice to set a message if all games are closed so everyone would see it and know when it will be back from the TWGS splash screen. |

There is, when he does go to shut down the game, he can sellect how long before the shut-down and there will be a global message to the players. JP would like to add the option to globally message players any time, not just on shut-down, but that is nice. RP, if you haven't already, post that in the daily logs in all your games. And thanks for the "heads-up" |

Yeah, you can deactivate the game, then set to reactivate at a specified time. Just be careful not to set it to restart the game because it will reset the game age. Let me know if you suspect TWGS itself in these drops. Again, it's not something I'm getting reports about in general, but I don't know how many of the latest version are running on active sites like yours. |

Everything was fine on the game until yesterday afternoon. It was acting like it thought I had another person on and it was knocking mine off line. But I looked at the login and I only had one login active. I left the game for about an hour went back and it seemed to have cleared itself up. |

I only had one "phantom dupe" and when I cleared that nobody complained any longer. Not a clue |

Might be the DNS from over seas, I just tried connecting and I got right in. I use the following. 4.2.2.1 4.2.2.2 But not sure if those are available from overseas. My guess would be his IP changed and DNS has not synced up yet. Try his IP telnet 71.206.126.174 223 , I would be curious if you ping runawayproton.dyndns.org what IP is it trying. |
