Post subject:  Thank you!

I wanted to take a second and say thank you to all of you. Thank you for all the good memories and helping me over the last 11 years to learn this game. I may never know "all" the secrets of this game but I have shared a passion as many of you have for it for over a decade.

With that it is time for me to retire from active game play. I will bang games for MicroBlaster's server tomorrow but after that I am done with Trade Wars. I know that most of you won’t have anything much to say about this, and while the community will continue on without me, it will continue to isolate itself.

I want to speak clearly and loudly, the reason that I am leaving this board and game is because of the same reason many have before me, and many will after me. Those who wish to become positively and actively involved seem to be pushed aside while those who seem to have more of a negative impact than anything else are pushed forward.

I wish nothing but the best to each of you but I think that my time is better spent doing more productive things, and playing games where my emotions don’t run so deep.

A warning to those who will listen, please don’t pretend that this game is shrinking in active players due solely to graphically rich games, this is not the case. I have played EVE I have played WOW, and dozens of other games that have never struck me like Trade Wars has. The community is shrinking due to the problems that everyone seems to ignore.

And despite the fact that I seem like 1 player, I am taking 10 active users with me to find a different task. Good luck all and God bless, I hope that I have left the community better than I found it as was always my wish.

someone should create a form-letter/template, for chronic-retire-syndrome. :)

It would be really nice to have them active for a while after coming back before they disappear again.

And comments like these that will help ensure he and others like he don't return.

I'm just thicker skinned that most I suppose, but I understand completely how Ender feels.

He'll be missed, we'll all miss his fresh new enthusiasm.

I must have missed something with Ender. I haven't seen any issues, but maybe that comes from just scanning the threads sometimes.

I do hate to see him go.

This is speaking clearly and loudly? The reinstated smack
forum would've had so much of a positive impact?
Really?

For a forum discussing a 30 year old text-based war game,
I think the community is remarkably stable. Sorry to see
you go man...but we'll still be here if you ever come back.

Nice exit, drama queen. I've read some
of your scripts, the 'community' is better
off without you, and your 10 cryptic friends.
Take your ball and go home, wimp.

JP are you a joke? This is one of your moderators? LOL Thanks Crosby.

Apparently your skin is soo thick, that it cannot detect sarcasm.

He'll be back. We all come back, sooner or later.

btw. I might be wrong, but I think Helix was being respectful. Personally, I'm of the opinion that when people stomp their feet and go off in a huff -and take their friends with them, the only productive thing that can be said to them is: Don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out.

I don't agree with that. I want new and returning players to stay. We can't have them eaten alive in this forum.

Do you know how many people asked me to just leave? Unless you conform to this forum's status quo, you're not welcome here.

Scarcasm, good old fashioned smack, flame wars.. I love it all!

Since those players with better sence don't post here, we reach out to facebook to locate the players who've left and who may like to return to playing if they knew they had options.
