Back in the day, we trusted Jake to play with us on Fament. Stoneslinger plays on his server - albeit part-time. Do any others play on their own public servers or just private games? I put a server up, just a couple of games to get a feel for this new server and the settings I've choosen. Game A is the Lobby - meeting place I expect will become a "hang-out" of sorts when the low turn/times games are opened. I copied game A to game P - Cruncher's Private Game - clearly titled so players know I'm in this on playing. To my surprise, players are gravitating to the game I'm in. So, what are your thoughts? If you trusted the sysop, would you play a game with them? |

We tried to convince V'Ger to play a few games on his and he just flat out refused, didn't want anyone starting rumors that he might be cheating. We gave him crap about it, but at the end of the day I respected his decision. I played a few games on mine just to see what was going on since I don't like watching the spy node. People seem to express easier to get a feel for what going on when and what players really think when your not the Sysop. |

It depends on the sysOp's maturity level on how much I would trust them to play on their own server. I've ran into blatent editing by Ops and that left a very bad impression. The Op would most likely have a serious advantage due to playing local, but if they stay out of T-Edit, then I don't have an issue. In an unlim they have more of an advantage than they would in a low to mid-range turn game. |

I dont mind if a sysop plays in games designated as such, but I wont play on a server where the sysop may pop in under dif names at dif times. I hear the whole ping advantage is gone with the new game, but there are 2 servers in particular that I have been SD'd on within 15 mins of the sysop starting and 20 mins after I started. I just couldn't cash fast enough. One of these, the op was just screwing around, and CBY'ed right after he ruined the game for me. I wont play on a server that the sysop plays any and all games again. |

I like playing TW on my server but I also respect those that do not wish it. I'm always in one of my games and always list my name as Master Blaster so others know. Usually it's to beat a specific bang configuration to death to see how ti does. I only enter other games as an observer or to perform an administrative functions. |

I agree it's a good thing. Has anyone tested cashing speed in the new version on nodes with different pings? |

A sysop pay's for the server so he/she should play on it if he/she wants to and you as a player choose's to play that game or not. |

As long as it's known that a sysop is playing in a game, there's no problem. People can make the choice as to whether they want to play or not. The problem occurs when the sysop plays without making it known ahead of time. |

Honestly, I think it comes down to the reputation of the respective host. I would have no trouble playing against someone like Cruncher because I know here and know she would never use the advantage but might be a little wary of someone I have no experience with. On the other hand, it is just a game and even way back in the beginning, people took the game way too serious and threats of violence were a common occurrence. |

Yeah, some people take this game WAY to seriously. |

Yeh, but how can you know that if nobody tells you about it first? Sysops should always disclose stuff like that. People only get angry because they've put time in, if they play a game where the sysop is playing and they've known about it from the beginning then they've got no one to blame but themselves. |
