You can Lock this topic too
Singularity wrote: They weren't deleted, they were moved to smack. The smack forum is gone. So they won't turn up on a search, they won't be visible, etc.
JP is concerned that the smack forum leads people to be uncivil in a public forum, and that as a public face for this game he's concerned that such behavior chases people away from the game. I tend to agree with that assessment. I really didn't think it needed to be spelled out, so here goes: Person A: I posted my SS Crawler (post gets deleted, et al) Person B: ( after spending some time searching). It's not anywhere in the Forum. Liar! Person C: ummmm. Management deleted that post a little while ago. Am I the only person that remembers deciding NOT to download it? One more time for anyone who just tuned in: post was made, Deleted, searched for, Presumed to have never existed. Why smack was deleted is NOT the point. The point is, that smack was deleted and the post in question cannot be found. Okay. Now Admin can lock this Thread too.

It's marked inactive and is invisible, but the posts are all still there. They just don't show up in a search. Helix did post his crawler. I was in that game, I remember when he posted it. But there was a crawler posted before that, about a year prior, by someone else based on a similar concept. Then I think someone else, might be D or phead, don't remember, posted their own "crawler" afterwards. I don't know if that's still around or not, but if it's not then he deleted it himself.

Yeh, there we go. But didn't D or someone post a crawler afterwards? I mean he might have deleted it, but didn't he post one?

D had said during ICE he had a super crawler in .cts and was going to post it after the tourney ended. Never saw it.

Re: You can Lock this topic too
I do remember seeing it, and opting not to download it. I wanted to point out that perhaps that couldn't be found because it was likely in the Smack forum, which has been removed/hidden.
I'm only now starting to appreciate the extent of the enmity between D & H. It's unfortunate.

Quote: I'm only now starting to appreciate the extent of the enmity between D & H. It's unfortunate. Nah, it's more than a little silly. The whole crawler thing was a huge offense to Big D, he was the number one champion of the SS-Crawling is cheating...yet he wasn't actually IN the game where Helix used his 'Burst-SS-caller' which was percieved as a 'ss-crawler.' D sat out that tourney, and just sniped from the sidelines. It was shortly after this that D tried to get another forum started...
