Quote: Re: Scripting discouraged games. Since no-one has shown any interest in these games, I am deleting them. Is anyone really surprised by this? The actual number of players who want to play an 'old fashioned game' could fit in an elevator.... If you really want the 'good old days' experience, set your node settings to allow only one node at a time. I remember having my modem dial over and over until the line was clear and I could get my turns in. But forget any actual player interaction, it never happened in the 'old days.' |

As JP States There Has To Be A balance. scriptors can enjoy as well as non scriptors ( if there are any left) and its up To the Hosting Sysop to make the rules and keep the edits interresting whichever they choose. there are some who do not script simply because they can`t see. In my opinion the game needs to be handled by community and tools available to the system ops that keep this balance and JP has done well with what I see but my experience is limited...I have seen a great improvement in co-operation and play ... intense chess game or a simple game of alien hunting ... the idea is fun and we still have fun !! |

It's going to take a while, players are slowly coming back. We're not totally non-script, we're just non-AFK kill scripts. |

No, they won't come, and a game like that will flop every time. Get used to having 2 or 3 players in the game, and they'll only come to prove a point. They say they want it, but they really don't. |

There are portions of the game that just take to long to play by hand. I only created them because of a request, and the player that made the request didn't even play. |

I ppt by hand at the start, and also get planets started by hand. After that, pain in the neck. Who in their right mind would buy 250 equip 131 times to a planet, while multiplying the changing ask price by an overbid factor each time you port? And thats just one example. I do not like the afk scripts, the robots, dedahdedahdedah, but thats just personal taste. I have no issue with those who use them - the Game came with Rules and no tactics can break imbedded Rules. |

It's good to provide the type games the players want, but I've been through it before. "Hey, bang a 250 turn, 5000 sector universe and I'll get a bunch of players in it." The game ends up with 1 or 2 players in it for a few days and then they get bored and quit after a couple of days. You never know until you try, so I commend you for trying. |

Memphis Tw had an original stock everything game for a couple years, 10 yrs ago at most. 250 turns, 1k sectors. Me and The Mad Hatter more or less only players. |

If that player was me, you asked my preferences and I told you, but never promised to play. One game at a time is all I can manage these days. And since I'm currently playing the beta server, I'm trying to be more observant than usual to catch bugs. |

That didn't make any sense to me, so I also did a low turn game. |
