 ANSI Editor for Windows
Are there any good ANSI menu editors for Windows?

 Re: ANSI Editor for Windows
I have used Tundra Draw, fairly simple to use and free.

 Re: ANSI Editor for Windows
Nice, maybe a bit too simple though.

 Re: ANSI Editor for Windows
And it won't work with TWGS, or probably any BBS. It's got the <CR><LF> sequence messed up in its output.

 Re: ANSI Editor for Windows
I used it for the TWGS Games menu when I was using it.

 Re: ANSI Editor for Windows
The ANSI menu I am currently running works fine, but if I open it with TundraDraw and save it without even making any chanes, I get this: So I tried starting with a blank file, you can clearly see that the program is using <LF> without the corrosponding <CR>:

 Re: ANSI Editor for Windows
PabloDraw is designed for ANSI art. I don't like it at all for editing menus.
I think it's so funny when an ANSI editor uses <ESC>[2C , because it would have been half as long just to use two space characters... and why the heck does TheDraw use <ESC>[1;1H instead of a <CR><LF>?

 Re: ANSI Editor for Windows
I definitely recommend TheDraw.
Sometimes the optimal output isn't the most supported output. I tried to use optimal output with the 25th anniversary ANSIs I did, but I had to use cursor movement rather than CR and LF as they are intended to be used, because there were too many issues in displaying them. Besides, today, what's a few more characters?

 Re: ANSI Editor for Windows
Problem is that TheDraw won't run on my desktop or server (Windows7/Server 2008 R2), which are both x64. I have to run it in "Windows XP mode", DosBox, or a Physical XP box. I also hate the way the mouse can sudenly destroy 3 hours of work, and there's no "undo" Optimization doesn't save any time traveling over the internet, but un-optimized ANSI will slow down your terminal program becuase the terminal program has to decode all of this in memory. For instance, an animation sequence can overwrite text already on the screen, and it still takes time to decode both lines of text, but in most cases the text that was overwritten was never even displayed on the screen.

 Re: ANSI Editor for Windows
You could try installing windows 98 in dos mode under virtualbox.
Have you tried AcidDraw any?

 Re: ANSI Editor for Windows
I haven't tried AcidDraw, becuase I'm looking for something that will run natively in windows. I may just write something, since I already wrote ANSI decoding for FirstMate I'm about 25% there

 Re: ANSI Editor for Windows
Yeh, there's not much of that out there. Try TundraDraw http://freshmeat.net/projects/tundradraw/It comes as source, so you can change what you need w/o having to write from scratch and compile for whatever OS you want.
