Clearing up some rumors

I’d like to clear up some rumors.

There is indeed a new forum in place for the TW community. TWSubspace.com was put in place to provide an alternate forum for folks to go to. It was not set up to steal away every member of ClassicTW, and all members here are welcome there. I do hope to see it gain in popularity, and plan to do so by keeping it clean. I’ve disallowed smack in that forum from the get go, and I see now Classic has followed suit. I’d rather have fewer posts, of higher quality, than thousands of users and meaningless content. I’m personally not a fan of smack. It’s not productive, and as of late it’s been hard to find any constructive content on the board.

I’d actually just taken my runawayproton forum down as nobody was using it, and days after removing it, I was asked where it was, and that there were people wanting to use it. So I brought to life a new forum. Its experienced growing pains, just like every other new site.

I’d heard rumors of things being said here about my forum, that have proven false, and other things have been said at TWSubspace that I’m dealing with. I don’t want to see discourse between the two forums.

As a former Admin of this very site, working both before SG, and with him, I have to say that it’s a hard job, and I can’t really say that I miss it now. SG and I have different administrative styles. Frankly I figured SG’s reign was gonna come and go, and that he couldn’t resist allowing his personal views to overshadow his value as an admin. I’d like to say publicly he’s proven me wrong. I don’t agree with everything he’s done, and He and I have been at odds for various reasons over the years. But I applaud SG for his sticking to it, and feel for the most part he’s proven me wrong. I’m not a fan of taking sides, but sometimes you’re forced to. But the past, is just that, and I’m looking to the future.

I’ve been working on plans for TWSubspace.com and invite each one of you to view it, and use it if you choose. For those of you who looked, and maybe came back later to find your account removed, it wasn’t a statement. It was part of those growing pains. I’d chosen to use a new host, and that host wasn’t proving reliable. So I’ve moved to another, and things seem stable. The move didn’t allow me to transfer account information as I couldn’t retrieve it from a site that was down. Feel free to join once again, and enjoy the party.

Although I don’t view this site as often as I used to, I do still stop in from time to time. I wish you all safe, pod free flights.
