Installed version 1.9.4 of SWATH and it seems extremely slow on window updates. I have a grid script (TWX) that I run that allows a fighter refresh before it takes off. The SWATH screen was about 3/4 through the fighter list, but the TWX grid window was showing approximately 10 warpouts to targeted sectors. I thought it was strange so I tried an alien cap. I capped the ship and then received maybe 20 updates on the alien firing back. The reason I know this also is because the TWX window had updated that I had been to dock and sold the ship.

The alien hits I can almost understand since subprompts are off, but the fighter update shouldn't be that slow. Is this something I have missed on earlier versions of SWATH?

Swath updates on the screen are always slower than a normal telnet window I figure it is a JAVA thing. I have gotten used to it since all I use is Linux, and you think it is slow in windows you should see linux. I open a term window or putty if I am doing buydowns or moving lots of product.

LOL. It's almost painful. Do a buydown, then wait 20 minutes for everything to
clear.

The new version of virtualbox has really improved the screen draw rate, tho.
While it's still megafast, it's a lot better. I run swath under vbox now and it's
tolerable.

Still, I tend to use zoc now more than I did.

With turbo etc i turn off the parsing which is what slows it down

Nod, that helps, but it's not an optimal solution. If you run a TWX script like a mover
or a buydown, you've got to remember to turn off parsing. That's easy to forget, and
obviously won't happen via the bot. You can turn off parsing and leave it off, but for
some reason it always seems to get turned back on for me.

I will try the parsing, thanks for the tip. But using Virtual Box means using windows again ;) I am not willing to go that far just yet.

Can run 2 clients..Swath and a telnet window.....Minimize Swath when running Movers or Turbo..
I wish Stein would fix the issue but i like the Map/Sidebar/Port/bubble info etc on Swath so I will keep using it.

Haha, true enough. Sadly, I still can't get wine to be as stable as I need it
to be.

That's usually what I do in a competitive game. I've got scripts for most of
the sidebar, port and bubble info, but I don't have a map. So in competitive
games I load swath and keep it minimized, and use either zoc or putty
unless I need a map. It works, but isn't optimal.

Swath is prettier than a twx window for sidebar info etc.
