The ClassicTW Twgs Server will be Launching TWO Games On The Latest Beta Server Software !
Games to Start on Friday 7/23 at 7:30 Eastern address twgs.classictw.com:23

BYOC 6 per corp
Game A Summer Stock
Will be a Classic Tradewars Game with Citadels advancing in 1/2 the normal time . This game will also have a 4 hour time limit and will have no truce...The game will have a 45 min Relog Penalty so do try and becarefull !!!! Stock Ships Except the CFS is open to all and Holds a Ptorp. No Death Limit and No Delays Enabled. 10k Sectors 800 turns No turn Bank (use em or lose em) MBBS Gold ,,ISP on ,,,,No Fig Decay No Fed Photons.

Game B Summer Stock Solo
This will be a Classic Tradewars Game with Citadels Advancing in 1/2 the normal time . This game will have a 5 hour time limit and will have NO RELOG Penalty ! Stock Ships Except the CFS will have a Ptorp No Death Limit abd No Delays Enabled 20k Sectors and 1200 turns and a 2 day turn Bank. Mbbs Gold ...ISP on... No Fig Decay... & Fed Photons ON and a 8 Deathlimit with Tourny mode on.

The purpose of these games is to Test the BETA under Conditions Experienced by Todays Server,,Settings..and Players......IF JP makes a new beta from this Beta Testing All Games will be saved and imported into the new software.

I will Be playing in Both the Above Games and invite all Challengers. Once the Games Start I will no longer have Access to the Server. ElderProphet will handle all Disputs
No Signups Needed Just show up!

Games will run Till Last Corp Standing.
Normal Rules.....No Buy outs No account sharing No substiting Players in the BYOC after game start.
No IP Proxies you may play from multiple IP's but they must be yours not an IP proxy.
No Hard Sharing of Assetts ..Information Sharing cannot be controled and is therefore legal.
Anything that you might Consider as a Bug Should be reported to JP and ElderProphet thru PM on this Website.

Remeber the Purpose of the Beta is to Test this Software for YOUR enjoyment later. It's Your Game Let's see if we can find anything that needs FIXED!!!!

why such low turns if you are trying to test it under modern conditions? almost every board runs multiple unlim turn games... i for one wont play in games with under several thousand turns, and realistically prolly wont come off of the unlims im in to play a turnlimited game.

hi booger....everyone has their preference and there are 2 other beta servers..This Beta Server is concentrating on Tournament low turn style play...Not unlimited play,,,I simply dont want to Rebang multiple times to Cater to the Unlimited Crowd...those games last what 2 dats and need rebanged???..Im sure Thrawn or Cruncher can set up an Unlimited for players that like that.

I have modified the topic to reflex it is Classic TW TWGS and not the actual Beta server to prevent any confusion.

I am also moving this to Open Discussion. The TWGS Beta section is specific for posts related to the Beta server and test-related posts, not other TWGS running the new revision.

No fig decay? Do you mean it will be off or the standard 1440?

20k is really high for a 900 turn solo, consider maybe half that?

If not can we have victory conditions?

hey bro the solo game is 20k sectors in hopes that the game will last 2-3 months.
Victory conditions should be all citadels owned....unless you have a better idea...im open

I would like to see at least 1200 turns per day in the solo, anything less in a 20k universe is a heart-breaker to me. Besides I like having turns come back in a nice round number :)

I think that there should be a death limit to solo summer game (assuming it works). And that the solo should be lower sector, even in a Basic Merf at 900 turns thats 450grid a day add a Time Limit (Again assuming it works) and you have players only gridding when others are offline. Even as the game progresses and TL Bot's that login when certain end game players enter you have a much lower tpw cycle for each grid sector taken assuming they do nothing but grid/defend. More turns would help rectify the 20k sector issue if you wanted to go the opposite was with it 1500/+ imo.

My Suggestion:
10k
900turns
ISP = On
10 Death Limit (Allows for much more depth in the game imo, especially a TL game ((Think offensive figs,mines, anti-grid techniques in general when player is offline))
Fig Decay = 1440
1/2 Cit /w your CFS ship edit

No need for victory conditions as assuming death-limit works it will self moderate and 900turns is a max 900sectors in a scout assuming no obstacles see death limit.

The Classic Twgs Server will be using the Newest Beta Release On Friday 7/23 When the BYOC and the SOLO open. This Latest Release will allow JP to Track the Game memory Resources like never before!!

Yes i thought on those two points so Ive upped the Turns to 1200 and I've Added a DeathLimit of 8 with Tourny mode on. also Edited the other posts to reflect new settings. Anyone else have some good ideas???

how does the relog penalty work? i havnt been in enough TL games to notice.. everytime you relog in the same day you lose the penalty amount?

Not quite. Every time you log in, your time will be debited at least the relog penalty. If the penalty is 5 minutes, and you log in for 6 minutes, 6 minutes will be debited, but if you log in for 30 seconds it will be 5 minutes. This really effects limpet clearing scripts, and similar.

Vger's right currently that setting is maxed at 20 mins im hoping to have that setting increased to 45 min before the games start friday
