I've playing at TWSGold and Moon Base Alpha for about 2 years now... Great sites... nice friendly places to play...

Well the Sysop rebanged TWGSGold and annouced it here... So we got some new players ...Great... there is a 3 day truce...
So my corp work our butts off and ignored our famalies and other things in life to bulid up and get our bubble protected... but because of a sysop error we lost it all to a new corp... All fair... but heres my thought and a couple qusetions as well... if i was a new player or a player coming back after a 10 year lay off... i would never play this game again... and actually now i cant either because as soon as i get on i am pdroped.... So to all the SYSOPS out there ...do you really wonder y no one is playing at your sites ? And aother Question for sysops do you enjoy rebanging games after 4 days ? i know i would be annoyed.... I dont play the kill or be killed game and that is my problem... i play if u attack me i attack you...

The reason i brought up Moon Base Alpha is the sysop seems to be one of the best.... He doesnt allow multilple connection so i cant play 7 games at once... his unlimited game has a 2 hour limit and his 20K turn game is 2 hours... So people can't sit on on pdrop... I guess i'll just keep on playing there... and stop playing at the site i've enjoyed for 2 years...

Make sure you play new games, avoid older games where people can pdrop you.

Also, unlims only last a few days, max. Try playing turn games. They tend to last
longer.

Why not ask the sysop there to bang a limited time unlim game w/ a truce? Maybe
it would work better.

ive outrun and spoofed pdrops before... and im new. when i came back i got pdropped relentlessly. what i did was i asked what i was doing wrong and adapted. frankly, if one wants a long term game this might not be the optimal choice. i dont think tradewars will ever have the 'perpetual' gameplay it used to have, because a lot of other games that are long term are soaking up the players... and they run from the browser and not telnet.

it is now my opinion that people wont play a game that runs in telnet when they could play a similar game that runs from their web browser. this is why new players wont play... games like evony and travian you can play at work from your office 'puter... tradewars not so much...

orion i was the one playing as Comet (yes, i enjoy stealing peoples names). i am sorry i wrecked your game if you want to learn a thing or two get at me we can play a couple games or something, but please gawd no truce games. if you let the outcome of 1 game ruin TW for you, maybe you should try a game like My Little Pony.. if anything puts a distaste in new/returning players mouths i would say its this forum

but people are so NICE... especially thrawn now maybe i can get him to send me his recordings of 'trailer park boys'

and another thing.. if youd like, rather then run pdrop i could just lock down fedspace. same result. most people like a game to be over when they end it, not babysit it for 2 months while new people log in and run over their grid

i hate that! weak it is, weak. but ive done it... we should tell JP to fix that, as it inhibits game play and makes no sense(in reality zyrain would pms on the blockade figs).

wouldnt you also hate winning a game and then while you're at work the next day someone comes on and cashes/invades you?

So many comment to reply too... I have started playing a 1250 turn game and am enjoying it more.... Comet ... you really didnt turn me off tw... I love the game...but have been getting bored... but for me to pretty much waste 4 days and lose it alll because of sysop error is annoying... As for playing my little pony... i have played this game and several others like it with my daughters... you're right maybe it is more my speed... i appreciate the offer to learn from you ... but when you call me garbage... hmmm... not the kind of guy i want to learn from... i'll learn from a good player... Maybe Vid Kid will give me a few more lessons...lol

oh ya and i play at work all the time... especially the last 4 days...until it was all gone... i can now get back to work
