 Re: [OT] Snowmageddon
We had bad snow over the weekend, none since. Power went out like a dozen times for a second each time. Thankfully I have the TWGS on a battery backup, laff.

 Re: [OT] Snowmageddon
You guys should send your snow to Vancouver, BC. With the Winter Olympics being hosted here in a few days, we need the snow for the mountain where the ski runs are. They've been trucking it in like crazy Why you would want to host Winter Olympics in a rainforest area is beyond me... Cheers

 Re: [OT] Snowmageddon
LOL. I think it got down to 3C here in Victoria today, but it's not like it isn't a rainforest surrounded by alpine climates around here. The funny part is that there is all this talk here about how the lack of snow is the issue: the lack of snow never sent VANOC over-budget. They had a contingency budget for this and they knew where they could get the snow from. The budget for that from the beginning covered everything they have done.
They went over budget because of the security, and the collapse of the non-existant money bubble of the past 20 years. When nothing happens, and all this is said and done if you remove the cost of retarded security and a huge gamble that should never have been taken I guarantee you these games will make money.
Regardless of all the negative hype, I'm just excited that these games are happening so close to home. I really hope ALL of the protestors disappear, and these games go off without a hitch.

The opening ceremony was less than a block away at the university stadium. It was crazy busy, but kindof cool, all at the same time.

 Re: [OT] Snowmageddon
Jeez with GWB selling NA to China for 8 years , sneaking 21 million mex's across the border to lower blue collar wages and insulting Canada on a weekly basis I think perhaps the protestors should find new subject matter.
I mean "DOWN with SPEED SKATING" just does not give me an emotional reaction.
But I guess my brothers to the north have more energy. I have to make sure I don't get sick because right now I have Republican health insurance (die quick waiting with the mex's in the emergency room)
