 Question?
Where does one post the need for a rebang, and/or feedback in regards to a specific active game if we are locked out of the game bang threads? (not that us noobs opinion is appreciated, wanted, nor valuable...lol) but... for those 5 elite... where would they respond to this? Just curious.

 Re: Question?
A private message to the sysOp would be fairly easy to do.

 Re: Question?
Private message or ICQ. Most people get to a point where their favorite sysops on are on their ICQ list too.

 Re: Question?
I guess I didnt make my point. Am I, as a player, supposed to pm a sysop when they can publicly ask the question? Might as well delete the bang forum completely. Stardock is much more reliable.
I feel if we cant respond directly, in public (on the public forum) then questions should not be asked in a public forum....
I have to be careful how i word this, as my frustrations with this site, and the game in general.. (more specifficly those that belittle an mock others) is going to land me on the outcast list (as I have seen so many others go) just for having an opinion. It seems that if you dont agree with the 5 elite here, you dont matter.
For instance... no one has banged a good, playable unlim sub zero in, like 2 weeks.... these games are usually decided in days....lol But I cant ask for one, as all i will get is the old crap unlim games.
JMO.

 Re: Question?
Just my 2 cents worth.
I think it was thursday and a player requested a low turn stock game, 3 sysops responded and one banged a game that day. I believe it was in open discussion which most everyone reads. The Rebang forum was tightened down because a large part of the time it turned to smack and had to be moved. So in short you can post a request either PM/ICQ or Other IM/Open Discussion. There are 3 options that should get a message to the sysop.

 Re: Question?
Just because he is the site admin does not mean he represents for sysops. Take everything on here with a grain of salt. But I can tell you from several years of experience if you are thin skinned, TW might not be your thing.

A "PUBLIC FORUM" that controls who can say what and where they can say it is a complete waste.... I wont bother anyone with my opinion or thoughts again. Sorry I wasted your time.

 Re: Question?
Thats the thing, Rebangs is not a public forum as such, its a place for TWGS sysops (the group) to post rebangs. If you want to respond to one of the posts, do it by private message or by posting in a public forum. Simple and straight forward. Since the change, not one rebang topic has been moved to smack. By my book, its worth the extra effort for that alone.

A "PUBLIC FORUM" that controls who can say what and where they can say it is a complete waste.... I wont bother anyone with my opinion or thoughts again. Sorry I wasted your time. Yes, it is a public forum, but it has sections designated for different topics. The game bang section is for Ops to announce games that are opening. Some of the Ops request notification that a game is over because they don't have time to monitor the games closely. Notifying an Op by PM or IM allows the Op to keep the games fresh for the players. I figure if an Op spends the time and resources to host free games, the least i can do is let him/her know when it is over. Besides, I don't like babysitting a game that is over, and a PM or IM is easy to send. I fail to see the "simple logic. A "PUBLIC FORUM" that controls who can say what and where they can say it is a complete waste...." part of your post. Without controls on what/where topics are, the forum would be chaos. Is it really difficult to determine where a topic should be posted and what is appropriate for that topic? If someone wants to read about scripting, then they browse the script section, and if they want to see what games are banging or have banged recently they check that section.

Quote: I guess I didnt make my point. Am I, as a player, supposed to pm a sysop when they can publicly ask the question? Might as well delete the bang forum completely. Stardock is much more reliable. So was your point that the rebangs forum is useless because you can't post there? I don't want you to think I'm belittling you, I just don't understand your problem. You want to just reply in the rebang forum in the thread that announces a specific game bang, right? I'm sure that would be ok in a thread that had only one game announced, but what of those threads that announce a half-dozen game openings? By the time the last game was rebanged, there would be at least a half-dozen replies, all requesting individual game rebangs. Don't you think that would be messy? Quote: I wont bother anyone with my opinion or thoughts again. Sorry I wasted your time. You got some pretty polite replies, and fairly quickly, despite ...how did you put it? Quote: not that us noobs opinion is appreciated, wanted, nor valuable.. Ghost and the others do quite a bit to keep the spam out and keeping the discourse outside of the smack forum civil. They do it for exactly nothing, so please remember the price of admission here, eh?
