I was thinking about some of the advantages of an unlim/turn based game. One of the major problems with unlims is the fact that photons are not a major deterrent to gridding, and unlims allow planet fueling whenever. An unlim/turn based game might appeal to some players - don't know so that is the reason for the post. The concept would be mainly for truce games when turns are set to unlim. At truce end, a script fires and adjusts the turns for all players to something like 2-3k or whatever the Op wants. This would turn the game into something other than grid wars and unlimited fueling (pbusting). The script I believe would be simple to write - time/date based activation, set the turns, then go through the user records. I haven't tried it yet on my test server, but if anyone is interested in giving something like this a try, I will (or someone else can) write a script. |

Ok so it would be unlimited truce for X amount of days then X amount of turns after that? That sounds kinda fun. I think the truce would have to be kinda short though, like 1 day maybe and planets i think would have to take a few days no lvl 4's at first tern unless they hold like 100k ore and 50k figs. that would be kinda nice. How big of uni are you thinking? or is there an edit you had in mind or make a new one up? |
