Whats the best place for a base? I know deadends are out, there are 3 or 4 thousand in a 20k sector game.

sector 2

| sector 1
sector 3 /

This show up as a bubble, but not a de, no?

Another question, how to make the best use of Prom's Traffice Analysis?

IMO it depends on your defense.

Sometimes DEs are out. People naturally grid them, but sometimes that's the best reason to use them. It's nice when your enemies come right to ya, all that much easier to kill them.

Tunnels are good too, but that depends on how many there are in the game and if the other side is actively gridding/probing them. Tunnels are easier to defend since you can anticipate adjtorp and hit with a much higher ratio, but you can do the same w/ other structures too.

The structure you talked about there is a "loop" and is a kind of bubble. Not all bubble finders will find them, but there are scripts that will (I've got one, so I know they exist). But if enough people build in them then ppl will hunt them separately, so they lose their benefit.

So anyway, it comes down to knowing the enemy and good defense.

Well, traffic analysis is just "how many times does sector appear on various plot strategies" ... IE: Plot from terra to all DEs, how many times does that sector appear? Why's that important? Well if a person is gridding out to DEs those will tend to be the ones that get hit the most. But that's not entirely true w/ all the twarp gridding that goes on these days, since they'll be coming in from a nearfig and not dock. So then there are other patterns too, I could go on and on about all that... not vitally important.

Generally speaking you want to grid out low traffic areas, mostly because other people might be building bases there. Low traffic non-DEs tend to be places people hide.
