Asking for input in forming up the following game:
Battle of the Bots.
Game idea is this
Corps each run a different BOT in the game.
C1 = MOM
C2 = Oz
C3 = RevHelper
C4 = Krakken  sorry if I spelled it wrong
If there’s others out there, all the better.
We find a team captain for each corp. They in turn recruit players to sign up for their corp.
Rules I can think of.
If you’re on C1 you MUST use MOM, C2 Must use Oz, etc.
Script spoofing is allowed. Lets find the weak spots in these bots, and make em stronger.

This is not a player vs player game, it’s a BOT vs BOT I don’t care if a player plays his turns or not at keys.
I’m thinking a stock edit, no aliens.
90% Grid and all Home Planets captured = win
Win = You get the MOAB (Mother of all BOTS) title for your bot for the next year, till the next competition.

These are just ideas, and open for discussion and changes.

Note: This is NOT a discussion about weather BOTS should be used in games or not. In this game, it’s a given.

Sounds like fun.

One question. Are all these bots available to public? I d/l MomBot from thr Grimy site, but both Thrawn and I have never heard of RevHelper or Krakken (no offense intended). This way we can learn all of them and be able to play on any team that has a bot. If there is a link to get these, I'd be grateful and could d/l for both Thrawn and myself to learn from.

Additional thought: I would have suggested our OCSBot, but all it would do is tell players how to create planets, etc. Not much of a help ;) Same with our TactBot, or V'Ger's SysBot.

Kraken was never released to the public, OZ's is far out of date and only publicly available in the Manifest Destiny TWX script pack on Grimy's. Does revhelper run on twx?

Mombot is the only current working publicly available bot going.

RevHelper can be found here http://www.thereverend.org/tradewars/files.html and to get the Kraaken bot you have to get ahold of Parrot. RevHelper is made to work with Zoc .

my bot is a good quality bot, but zoc has some serious limitations. even i use mombot in combination with mine because zoc doesn't have a decent mechanism for relogging on disconnect. the team using my bot exclusively will be at a disadvantage.

PS. thrawn and daala - we should play a game together sometime soon.

FYI updated revhelper files can be found here: http://thereverend.org/tradewars/public/files/script/

Well, we have a RevHelp, a Mom, and if those that are privy to the Krakken BOT want to pony up we'd have three corps. I know Rev says he'd be at a disadvantage, but this is a chance to see where your BOT shines, and where the armor is a little thin.
I'm still waiting to see if there's an interest in PLAYING this game.

Thanks for the link. Will take a look at that.

Passed on your msg to Daala. We would enjoy a game with you sometime. Will let you know what my schedule is. I just got back from my deployment and posted at home for a bit. And of course we are prepping for our newest addition, kid #5 due in October. Will find time though and will keep you posted.
