Unread post history of tournaments
I wrote a thread about a year ago or so on the history of tw tournaments. It was quite complete and many people contributed to it. Somehow it is gone missing from the forum. If anyone has a copy of it archived somewhere I would appreciate it if you sent it to me. I wanted to post it on my blog.

I have all the original data files and I'd be happy to look in the originals to see if it for some reason didn't make the conversion.

rev - I looked in the Access files and there is nothing there that I can find. I did SQL queries for simple terms like "tournament", "hht" or "bote" and nada.

freaky. i *know* i wrote a long thread on it with dates and tournament names and winners. i even talked to a lot of people online last night who contributed to the thread. terms like lotto, uso, wtc, hht would have shown up in the thread so that is how i searched the forum last night and, like you, i got zilch. thanks for looking. i wonder what happened to it?

That's a great question .. what happened to it? But whatever it is, it apparently happened BEFORE I or JP got a copy of the DB.

I should have a copy of it somewhere, I saved it so that I could use it to complete the Tournament History Page I was putting together. I have three different computers and do not recall where it is and do not have the time to look for it right now though, so it will be awhile before I can check into that. What was the date like around July of 06?

I'm not sure - but summer 2006 is my best guess. I'd be very grateful if you find it.

Seems like there is a "wayback" Internet site that archives websites. I haven't used it, but that might be a possibility.

Sorry, I spend an hour two days ago looking through files and have not come across it yet. It is harder then I thought, I no longer remember how/where I used to place files.

I spent two hours the other night looking and was UTL, I was wanting to try doing a few keyword searches and see if that returns anything, can you recall any? Either way it might be best to just start a new thread, last time you were able to get all the information in less then two days time.

try these keywords: bote lotto wtc uso chess hht

if nothing turns up, download http://desktop.google.com/ and let it index your drive over night. if it is there, you will find it.

Rev,

This is Kav. I can't post here under my name, I no longer live in the States nor any longer have the ISP/email addr that I originally used, hence the paranoid forum robot will not permit me to access my original a/c here, since the changeover - God only knows why that rule, seems utterly purposeless to me, but wtf. I'm reverting to an old alias, MAD MICK.

Your thread on the Tourneys : unfortunately not archived by the Wayback Machine. The W/B spider is great, but it doesnt (or use'nt) go very deep - maybe one or two levels of embedded links. Having said that, I think that it would be great if you were to restart the thread.

I and many others can dig up memories to use to search Egroups/Yahoo/TWGS.ORG for data, in addition to crap we saved on HDs.

Go for it Rev!

Best personal regards,

Des Kavanagh.
