Decided to take a break from moving and play a quick game. I find a 20k just banged with 25k turns - go in go red, kill a couple of other players. A player comes in and since I figure I won't be in it more than a day or two (moving is a pain), I offer to corp with him. We get his alignment down, he joins corp, I give him 30M to get a ship with, but first we have to change his alignment back to blue. I drop the figs and say ok, for him to attack. I get a message that he quit the corp and then he attacks - deep blue and no easy way to change the alignment - and he still has the 30M. He says he will figure something out - I figure he will cby just before extern. I come back the next day and see that he is base building and creating ports under his new corp name. Now, I didn't get a chance to talk to him today so I am guessing that he no longer wanted to corp. This is more so evident since the figs around my base had been taken out (no the base wasn't there - after he quit the corp, I moved). How would you react? Would you choose what is behind door 1, 2, 3, or 4? 1) Ask him nicely to give the credits back? 2) Tell him good move on getting the credits? 3) Search and destroy 4) Say "Aw shucks" you win. My avatar will probably give you an indication of which I chose - of course the eyes would have to be bloodshot to be more accurate. |

He took advantage of your good will and used it against you. #3. Kill, no second chances. |

Make him feel bad, and want to corp back up with you, pull all his assets to personal, then dump him and open that door 3 |

Don't need to do any of that. This guy is clearly an idiot, corpie backstabbing is the easiest way to get a bad name and clearly he could use some good team mates. Easy answer is to grid a bit and fire up a pwarp torper. Let him hit a fig, torp him, he'll be turnless and easy to kill. Finish him off and lock down fed after extern. That gives you a few days to find his base and finish him for good. This is just another reason why I don't give newbs much of a chance. They're most likely to try cheesy crap like this. |

I know, just sounds good on paper. This person needs his afterburner handed to him. No second chances |

Well, he got the rest of today off - actually he got it off before I posted. He got torped and SD'd. A few things are setup for when/if he comes back in. Dock is something he won't reach. |

I'd let him in just to torp him again. And again. And again! I hate people like that. |

Youve done worse to people who havent done something bad as to take cash from you. what you should do is a get a rubber band, wrap said rubber band tightly around balls, wait a few hours and remove. seems to be a good punishment. |

LOL, now Kane, I hardly ever do bad things to players. But, I posted for another reason also - players (especially new players) need to know that when they do something like this, there are problems associated with it. Maybe he thought I was a newbie that would not or could not respond. At any rate, he didn't get to dock and now has his Saturday free to spend with family and friends. And now I get to go back to unpacking boxes... Did I mention that moving sucks - esp when helping someone else?!?! |

I agree with RP, door #1 then door#3, then let him think on things a little while more. Then when he comes on again, repeat the above. I also hate backstabbers. Vulcan |

Just make an endless loop of this and things should be good. Hope whoever did this to you is reading this, so he knows just how well we think of this type of play. And hope those thinking of the same will read this and reconsider. Real sad way for a noob to establish his reputation. |

But felt good to say it! I'd go with my original plan |
