Hello again,

We've made a decision about Trade Wars: Tournament community.

We will most certainly NOT touch, move or otherwise change what this community has done to this site in regards to TW 2002 and TWGS. It seems clear to us now that we have been misinformed and really had no clue that this was a vibrant community of players who care deeply about the TW history and heritage.

It was clear from the beginning that TW2002 and TWT were two separate products. But in the pressure of building a business with JP's property we thought it was best to merge all official communities together under one flag to unify everyone. This WILL NOT happen.

This is a living breathing entity you have here. People that are actively protecting what THEY have BUILT over the years. It is not about ownership of Intellectual Property anymore. Sylien Entertainment is not a destroyer of communities, it is a builder of those and we intend to stay that way.

With John Pritchett's blessing from last night, we'll be wanting to work with all of you to make the remake, TWT a big success, but we won't be touching TW2002 at all, basically leaving it in your very capable hands.

So you may no longer worry about transfers and closures of this site. It won't happen because we won't require it any more. It makes no sense with the new information we have about this place.

Go play, build, have fun, and if you feel like it, come see us and help us out and be part of the new graphically enhanced game. We're making it as close to TW2002 gameplay as possible, without scripting of course, but nonetheless a pure strategy game classic to be distributed for FREE to the world through the Internet.

Respectfully,

Lehmund "Srochon from the SGC and TWT sites"

I for one thank you for listening to the community, and working with us.  Hope your new venture is a success, and maybe someday I'll come test it out.
I did try a couple times before, but the registration didn't work.

Thanks for posting that information. You definetly had some people's panties buched up talking about moving or combining our forum with another...
Lots of infighting between us "TW" players....but most of us really LOVE our game and most of us even LOVE our EIS forums(even if we complain a lot)
I will be checking out your new TW and i wish you guys all the success in the world.

I guess like we said we were miss informed on what was going on on that forum. happy everything will work out.

You mentionned something interesting. If anything appen you don't want to loose the history of the game. We have discovered that this site is 'managed' 'owned' 'hosted' by 3 different persons, if something appen to anyone I guess the site would be in bad position.

Maybe it is time to make sure nothing can happen to the hitory of tw2002 and make a xml file for ir that would be public. If you guys are interested we could arrange something to make sure there is a depository of tw2002/twg somewhere with no 'user'.

If some of you want to help build that depository let's do it for real.

I for one will mirror the data collected here on my site if something is arranged.  How do we sign up?
Oh, and SG, from the looks of things you're one of those with the bunched up problem
Couldn't resist

Well we are gonna need the help of an admin on that I think.

We must have ether a automated updates system or do it like every month by hand.

To make sure it can't just vanish it must be putted on a FTP where a few people will be able to have access. (I don't know yet how we would publish the xml file and if we would make it a download)

The server must not be owned by a person because if anything happen to him we get screwed but I wouldn't recommand a public space since they tend to get hacked a lot.

Sylien got many server we could make a space just for that with a new url and some 'high' members determine by the admin here would have full access into it.

Now for the process of doing it I'm yet unsure what we should do since I don't know much about the format we want or teh size of the file we are gonna have maybe a new post for that is required.

Thanks a Bunch!

We may argue, bicker, disagree, tease and give each other a hard time here but the thing we all have in common is we love this game.

Even if this community is not as large as it used to be it's a strong community. Stronger than people realize.

P.S. Glad I didn't have to tell anyone to kiss my Elf's booty

Well we are here for the community not to be against it, we were miss-guided that's about it.

As a master-admin and old manager of 20k actif member forums I hope that we can help the TW & TWT communities to grow stronger together.

The best way to get to us will still be the SGC since it's the base of sylien community. But I'll stay here to see if you have input.

NO IT WAS NOT CLEAR FROM THE BEGINNING (or maybe it was just me) AND YOU <CANNOT> MAKE IT WITHOUT SCRIPTING CUZ SOME ONE WILL EVENTUALLY DEFEAT EVRYTHING YOU DO (just ask any sysop that has tried to run script free games in recent yers), WHY DON"T YOU CONCENTRATE ON IMPORING THE ORIGINAL 9 instead of creating a pay for play game)_ BYE BYE

I don't think you have read everything. If you would have you would have read that teh game is not pay to play and that webbased can be unscriptable exepct for one method that we know of.
Now at start it wasn't clear because we were miss-informed and we knew at teh time that this community wasn't very alive. As we discover otherwise we change what we though best for the community at teh time.

Gray Lensman didn't take his medication today, I apologize for him.
It's great news that EIS will remain (even though this was the perfect opportunity to remove earth and zentock from the inner circle...).
When your forums are back up i'll start checking them more often to see if I can help out.
As for the .xml database, that'd be great to still do I think because in the couple times EIS has moved, we've lost data and it would be great to have it backed up somewhere so if something happens we don't lose the important things (like my post count!! lol)

Entered my user name and password but cannot *ing logon.
can logon to the change password site but not on SGC I get invalid login information.

And we want to let these creeps try and run a web based game when Joe NoServer can't even log on?
Joe NoServer is gonna keep looking somewhere he can logon.
