Has anyone heard from akor? I miss the crazy old bastard..   Incase anyone has not seen this cap from vulcans forums, here is the best cap I have ever seen.

The following is word for word cap that Akor posted on vulcans. Akor adds his own dialogue throughout the cap. It is priceless. Enjoy.

"This is from the Corp Wars 2 game, my first ever big game. In that game I learned gridding mostly and how the big boys play the game. This was at the very first days of the game. I was gridding with Cherokee's Lawnmower since it was quick to set up compared to RammaR's Path Blast. Since then, I did what Caretaker said I would do some day: move the file "ck_lawnmow.cts" to a disk and throw the disk against a wall. But at the time, Cherokee's lawnmower was the best thing since sliced bread to me.

Anyway, that night, Stockton had me grid 20 random sectors and return to SD. Then he had me do 15 sectors and end in Terra. After I got to Terra he said on ICQ:

Time : 10:42 PM

From : Stockton
nice work u just made a c1 player fuse their ship.. in an iss

Boy, I felt like I was contributing finally. I asked over ICQ:

Akor: I'm at 1 and have 182 more turns.
You want me to use them up? Or help in lockup?

Stockton: nod do like 5 more paths

After I did the passes I returned to SD and found I had a few turns left so adrenaline got to me and I started off again, only this time I forgot to make SD my last stop. After finishing up. I was ready to call it a night when I got this message over SS:

R Stockt akor why are u out in space?

Huh? I was at SD. But Stockton tried that before in a practice game: editing me from the dock to somewhere out in space. So I checked to make sure he didn’t do it again (as if he could on River Rat’s board )

Command [TL=00:00:00]:[598] (?=Help)? : D
<Re-Display>
Sector : 598 in uncharted space.
Ports : Egypt Primus, Class 4 (SSB)
Fighters: 1 (belong to your Corp) [Defensive]
Warps to Sector(s) : (5049) – 9172

598??? I better get out of here to SD ASAP. What should I use? RammeR’s Path-Blast? No, too long to setup. Oh, I know.

Command [TL=00:00:00]:[598] (?=Help)? : 3339
<Move>
Warping to Sector 3339

That Warp Lane is not adjacent.
Do you want to engage the TransWarp drive? Yes
Sector 3339 is 12 hops away from here.
You do not have enough Fuel Ore to make the jump

Oops. Well,

Command [TL=00:00:00]:[598] (?=Help)? : 3339
<Move>
Warping to Sector 3339
That Warp Lane is not adjacent.
Do you want to engage the TransWarp drive? No

Computed.

The shortest path (12 hops, 24 turns) from sector 598 to sector 3339 is:
598 > 9172 > (7854) > (1542) > (2164) > (523) > (2509) > (3526) > (7235) > (5093) > (8852) > 3506 > 3339

Engage the Autopilot? (Y/N/Single step/Express) [Y] E
<Auto Pilot Engaging>

Fastest, dumbest way to get to SD.Bad mistake.

I didn’t go more than four sectors when:

Auto Warping to sector 1542

Sector : 1542 in uncharted space (unexplored).
Ports : Ithaca Major, Class 1 (BBS)
Fighters: 1 (belong to Corp#1, The Innocents) [Defensive]
Warps to Sector(s) : (2164) - (2762) - 7854 - (7993)

You have to destroy the fighters to remain in this sector.

Your fighters: 366 vs. theirs: 1

Great, now I have to manually try to destroy a fig before anyone comes to investigate.

Option? (A,D,I,R,?) A
<Attack>
Scanners detect a wormhole opening in this sector!]? 33

Psion appears in a brilliant flash of warp energies! 33

Oops. To late. But since I started attacking the fig:
How many fighters do you wish to use (0 to 366) [0]? 33
You lost 4 fighter(s)
You destroyed 1 enemy fighters.
You destroyed all the fighters.

At least I got it. Now Psion’s turn.

Psion is powering up weapons systems!?) (?=Help) [N] ?
Shipboard Computers Psion destroyed 750 shield points and 362 fighters.
For getting blown up, you lost 0 experience points.

HAH! Didn’t have any experience anyway.

Psion destroyed your Constellation!!!
You fled in your Escape Pod to sector 4276

Shoot. Well no one knew where I was. But did learn my lesson?

Command [TL=00:00:00]:[4276] (?=Help)? : 3339
<Move>
Warping to Sector 3339
That Warp Lane is not adjacent.
Computed.
The shortest path (12 hops, 72 turns) from sector 4276 to sector 3339 is:
4276 > (3119) > 627 > 2518 > 4912 > 527 > 1407 > (3203) > (7529) > 3682 > 6995 > 3506 > 3339

Engage the Autopilot? (Y/N/Single step/Express) [Y] E
<Auto Pilot Engaging>

Of course, not. Also by that time I didn’t have 72 turns anyway. But I was lucky. I got 8 sectors this time before:

Auto Warping to sector 3203

Sector : 3203 in uncharted space (unexplored).
Fighters: 1 (belong to Corp#2, Chaos Theory) [Defensive]
Warps to Sector(s) : (4112) - (7529)

You have to destroy the fighters to remain in this sector.

Shoot again.

Your fighters: 1 vs. theirs: 1

50:/50 chance.

Option? (A,D,I,R,?) A
<Attack>
How many fighters do you wish to use (0 to 1) [0]? 1
You lost 1 fighter(s)
You destroyed 0 enemy fighters.

NO!

Your fighters: 0 vs. theirs: 1
Option? (A,D,I,R,S,?) R
<Retreat>
Sorry, you have nowhere to retreat to!

TERRIBLE! I gotta have help. So I TeamSpeaked my situation and Bob said to try to retreat. I first appraised my situation:

Your fighters: 0 vs. theirs: 1
Option? (A,D,I,R,S,?) I
<Info>

Trader Name : Civilian Akor
Rank and Exp : 1 points, Alignment=1,000 Unselfish
Times Blown Up : 1
Corp # 3, The Mad Griddlers
Ship Name : Galileo
Ship Info : Markham Space Tech *** Escape Pod *** Ported=0 Kills=0
Date Built :
Turns to Warp : 6
Current Sector : 3203
Turns left : 14
Total Holds : 1 - Empty=1
Fighters : 0

After 11 attempts at retreat, Dr Doog keyed on SS:

R Dr Doo akor is podded

I was desperate. I thought that if I rammed the bubble enough times it would burst. Well, it’s logical. So after 14 more times Maggie keyed:

R maggie sit still,?):

HAH! Like I can move. ROFL.

Then she keyed:

bobthe someone go run dtorp in his TA

That’s what happens when you change your alias. Anyway, next I saw:

R Stockt Ram Density Photon Loaded -- AVOID all sectors around my TA!

Someone said on TeamSpeak to disconnect and reconnect so Stockton could find me. So I did. When I came back, the capture file tells the rest.

You have 14 turns this Stardate.

Sector : 3203 in uncharted space.
Fighters: 1 (belong to Corp#2, Chaos Theory) [Defensive]
Warps to Sector(s) : (4112) - (7529)

You have to destroy the fighters to remain in this sector.
Your fighters: 0 vs. theirs: 1
Option? (A,D,I,R,S,?) R
<Retreat>
Sorry, you have nowhere to retreat to!

Your fighters: 0 vs. theirs: 1

Scanners detect a wormhole opening in this sector!
Jester appears in a brilliant flash of warp energies!

Stockton launched a P-Missile in sector 3203 damaging your ship.

Photon Wave Duration : 2 seconds in sector 3203

R Stockt Photon fired into sector: 3203 from: 7529
R Stockt Holo Scan Results:

R Stockt Sector : 3203 in uncharted space.
R Stockt Traders : Robber Jester [2], w/ 1,050 ftrs,
R Stockt in Conne 2 (Dzerhinsky Constellation)
R Stockt Civilian Akor [3], w/ 0 ftrs,
R Stockt in Galileo (Markham Space Tech *** Escape Pod ***)
R Stockt Fighters: 1 (belong to Corp#2, Chaos Theory) [Defensive]

Ok. What follows I don't understand:

Jester is powering up weapons systems!

Photon Wave Duration has ended in sector 3203

Shipboard Computers Jester destroyed 30 shield points and 0 fighters.

Your *** Escape Pod *** has been destroyed!

The lessons I learned were:

NEVER express, even in an emergency.
Always mow when not in FedSpace.
Cherokee's Lawnmower is antiquated; RammaR's Blast or Twarper is the best gridders nowdays."

Last I heard he was quitting TW. Big turny a while back, we all had our corps picked ahead of time... and he wanted to play. He couldn't get a game and felt left out, then decided to leave. I asked him to play in BG4 but he said no.

Last time I talked to him... that was like a year ago.

My favorite Akor moment was when he ran BD checker looking at SD. He hadn't changed his subspace, so everyone knew the BD to SD. I put mines there, and it cost his corpmate Stockton his ship. My corpie got the pod. Akor got the credit.
