I will be shutting down Silver Wings.  This is mainly because of player inactivity.  I'm not bitter or blaming anyone, it's just that the player base isn't big enough to support so many servers and it is hurting all servers by having the player scattered out so much.  I just banged 5 games this weekend and I have about 1 player in each game.  That's not good for game play.  So, when and if the time comes we need more servers I will bring it back online.  Until then, I'll be around to help others and I do have a website available that I will keep active.  I may try to bring back a version of twlinks to help out the community.  I can also game-op a game or two if any sysops are interested.
Thanks for the support to the players that played on Silver Wings.  I will use the telnet redirect to send my current players to a good twgs server.
 

Well, I understand, but sorry to hear this. 
I'm glad you're staying active though.  I confess, I've only played a couple games on your site, but it was (is) a good site.  I could think of a few sites I'd rather see go than yours  but I"m sure if there was a vote, I'd be on the loosing side also.
I've had my site going for some time now, hoping activity picks up, and I've got a couple games that are active but for the most part, my games sound like yours.
Feel free to look over my games.  I respect your opinion, and if you see issues that will make games more playable let me know.  Also I might hit you up on that game op offer in the future.  I don't have any games that need monitored close for now, but hope to host a tournament maybe, and I'd like it if there were two people able to monitor a game under those conditions.

Sorry to see you go too. I know it gets frustrating trying to put all that time into a server, creating the site, screens, etc, and you get just a handful of players while other servers seem to get the most. However, in our case I never let that deter me. Our site will run whether another gets the popular players, or another gets "more" players. It's not a competition, at least I don't view it as such. I focus on drawing players in, providing a "sandbox" to play in, then direct them to other servers with some good competition.

In any case, I hope you will still be around and look forward to seeing your TWGS return. Perhaps I could hit you up sometime to be a Game-Op if I need one on the TradeWars Academy OCS TWGS. Or if you know a couple of people that are new and you want a slot, let me know.

I'm not going anywhere, and I'm not frustrated at all.  I just can't see keeping a server up with as many as there are today.  There are many good servers out there at this time to chose from, many of which are running my games.  So I can get back to devoting my time to playing and enjoying these good servers myself.
Thanks for the support from everyone, but if the time ever comes where there is more servers needed, I will gladly bring Silver Wings back online.  It's just at this time I can't see that it's needed.

Hate to see you  shutting it down but i agree with you that there just aren't the players and they do get scattered.  On a side note you should talk to vader as I think he has the twlinks site now but has done nothing with it he may let you take it over .
